legal weed smoking in 3 states?

  • Read they passed weed smoking in Colorado ..Any body can smoke it and have it just like beer.??? I saw Peyton Manning bought 21 papa johns in Colorado and they say it was because he wanted to cash in on peoples munchies from smoking..

You would think Feds can come in and say no to it or we will pull all the money they get from them..Then i wonder who sells it or can you grow your own...I never thought i would see this in my life time and i wonder what it will do to the people that are in jail for selling it in Colorado..

2 states, Washington and Colorado, the law won't go into effect until the governor signs it into law which coud take until January...and the growing and selling portion is expected to take longer before going into effect. Technically it is still illegal under federal law but given the fact they are removing marijuana from the DARE program after this year and that 2 states voted it in I highly doubt they go after it to hard without starting problems the government doesn't need at this point

seems like one of those things that if they legalize it and regulate it I guess at least it is safer. I would think with Illegal dealers you would have potential for lacing it with something harmful. I am no expert so I have no idea just a thought.

  • I know that the commercially bought marijuana will be subjected to state run quality testing to avoid contaminants and with a big influx in supply the dealers should lose basically all their business since people can grow themselves

I dont think that is true. People are too lazy to grow their own stuff. I mean I buy apples that are already cut, sliced bread, fast food, etc. some people will grow there own, but most won't. Most will likely buy from a shop.

  • Wonder what will happen if your in Colorado and buy a pack of weed smokes and get stopped in Nebraska..Wonder if they will ticket you for having a legal pack of joints or what ever..You would think ,they would have a hard time putting you in jail for something you bought legally..

Geuss they will have to write new laws here just for that reason...I'll go pick me up a couple cartons there and bring it back and jack up the prices..lolllll

    obobbo

  • First of all, I've never smoked weed, or done any other drug in my life...that being said, I think the government should make Marijuana legal, put the dealers out of business, and tax the sale of it to go toward our 17 Trillion deficit....

The dealers in Mexico it would put out of business alone would be worth legalizing it....

And honestly, it's probably better for you than cigarettes filled with all those cancer causing chemicals in the filters....

Not sure if serious? You will still be arrested in Nebraska and punished the same way you were on November 6.

Why would they change the laws here in Nebraska? Its basically decriminalized here as long as you have less than an ounce. It's just a ticket.

I bet there will be a ton of people who will grow it on their own. I already know somebody who grows their own legally with their medical license. If MJ is over-taxed, like it will be, I'd expect most residents to grow their own.

No, the INS isn't chasing him; Taylor Martinez just runs like that. . . .

Why tax it? Why should the government get rich off of a product they have condemned for the past 80 years?

Why don't we just raise the taxes on gasoline or milk? more people use those two products than they do MJ. Seems that taxing those products would help the national debt more than a marijuana-tax would.

I agree about the mexican drug war. This will help a TON... If California or Texas ever legalize it will all but destroy the drug cartels business here.

I'm a believer that things like liquor, cigarettes, chewing tobacco and Marijuana should be taxed a hell of a lot higher than staples of society like milk, gas, food, vibrators, etc......banana

and I'd much rather the government "get rich" off taxing "vices" than by taking more and more of our earned income...

    Exactly.

Me? I'd rather have "virtue" taxes than "vice" taxes. You know...., cheaper for me that way.
