Wisky/OSU?

  • Wisky favored by 2 1/2 over Ohio St. Is there something I'm missing here? Miller not playing, half the team get picked up for something? The combined record of the B1G teams Wisky has beaten is 4-19, is this one of those lines to good to be trur or load up on OSU?

  • I'm learning quickly that in the Big Ten, its all about being at home.

    I think OSU wins though.

  • Color me flabbergasted. A top ten team is an underdog to an unranked team? Has that ever happened before?

Vegas isn't stupid, they know what they are doing.

  • I'll say this.

Wisconsin has been playing much better football as of late. They are cranking up Montee Ball and the running game and are getting better each and every week. The OL is leaps and bounds better than they were just 4 weeks ago.

They have 3 losses this year. All by a field goal.

Take away Ohio State's blitzing of Nebraska and you have a team that owns road victories against Michigan State, Indiana, and Penn State by the following margins: 1, 3, and 12. A team that also needed overtime to beat Purdue at home, and were taken to the wall by UAB and California at home in their OOC schedule.

This will be their toughest road game. As we all know, Camp Randall is a tough place to play.

The line opened at 1 to 1.5 in favor of Wisconsin. It moved up to 3 and is at 2 to 2.5. As a 25 year college football wagerer, I'd tread lightly on taking Ohio State in this contest.

  • That is why I haven't put anything down yet. Vegas isn't wrong very often, that is why I thought it was odd. Wisky played good against Indiana, they are worthless, Monte hasn't done much against good defenses.

Yeah, good point. Wonder what they know that we don't?

Vegas doesn't pick winners, they attempt to place the spread at the point where the total bet handle is expected to be half on one, half on the other. Then they are guaranteed 'juice' on the losing bets. It's like money for nothing and your chicks for free.

I didn't say they picked winners, I said they weren't stupid.

No argument here. My previous post was a bit hastily composed - my point should have more clearly stated that the seemingly disparate point spread in relationship to the competitive positions of the two teams would seem to indicate that Vegas is looking to shift bettor's interests to OSU. Which seems odd, given their undefeated record. Anyway, sorry if I mischaracterized or offended. peace

    No offense taken, just clarifying.

Not sure just yet about how much Wisconsin has improved.

It was just a few weeks ago they played at MSU and the pre-game banter among the announcers was how much the OL had improved. Later in the game, those announcers commented that whatever improvement they had made, it wasn't much.

UW has then followed up playing a couple of flag football team defenses. Not sure what you can take from that.

OSU has shown a tendency to be questionable on defense and it's a road game. This will favor Wisconsin but I think OSU wins, pulling away in the 4th.
