What's next for Nebraska and Tim Miles?

  • So, after last night's thrilling win, and the bow that's been put on Nebraska's season at this point, what would you consider progress for the next (2013-2014) season?

Nebraska has won five games with no bench and basically three seniors, a freshman and Ray Gallegos. What would you consider the next step? What would have to happen after next season for you to consider Nebrasketball still moving in the right direction?

The Huskers are going to have at least six new players on the roster next season, so there's going to be turnover. What are your expectations?

  • Next step would be a winning season and approaching .500 in the B1G conference. Getting an NIT berth would be huge, and a fairly good seeding at that. I don't think we're far off, but we're not tourney material yet, especially in this conference.

  • Honestly, I think going .500 in conference play would be progress. I know the B1G will lose some players to the NBA but still the toughest conference around. Perimeter play will be solid, but with only Pitchford playing big, we'll still have to outsmart/outhustle/outthink most B1G opponents.

Of course I'm hopeful for better than that, but realistically I think that would be a good step. 2014-15 season, let us dance.

  • Anything is possible. Idk how u can say we wont be good enough for tourney next year. we will have completely different team with definitely the most talent weve had since Danny nee. i think Tim miles would be dissappointed with anything less than ncaa tourney. it all depends on how soon the players can gel and figure it all out. we will have two true point gaurds which is huge in Tim miles offense. it should be fun and entertaining.

  • Who will be here has alot to do with my projected result for next year. There are two big men that are being persued by the coaching staff. Matthew Atewe 6'9" 230 lbs PF who is my first choice to get a commit from. I believe the second hasn't been offered yet but his name is Kevin Thomas 6'8" 210 lbs PF and is a juco kid. Don't know if coaches want both or if Thomas is a fall back plan in case we lose out on Atewe. One or both would lend a great deal of help in the middle for Pitchford. Getting one would give us enough i think to get to 500 in conference and dominate in the non conference schedule. Since i've learned not to underestimate coach Miles we could end up a game over 500 or so. Have a good showing in the B1G tourny (win a couple games) the NIT should happen and don't stop dreaming about dancing as rpi should be decent because of competition we play in the B1G. If we miss next year i'd most certainly believe we dance in 2014-2015.....woot

    We backed off of Thomas.

Fully expect us to get Atewe though.

Thanks Nustudent. Wondered about Thomas. Getting Atewe would make me a very happy camper...banana We would still have one ship left for the right player..

I think we will hold on to it, unless we can get a senior transfer.

I think we will have a much better class next year and are saving it to balance the classes out a bit
