It is always difficult to beat a good team twice. Nobody should be fooled by Wisconsin's 7-5 record. All 5 of those losses have been by a FG or in OT. They have been on the short end of some very tough losses and simply don't get blown out.

None of Wisconsin's losses are embarrassing or indicate they are anything but a good football team.

Also, they have been getting Monte Ball cranked up and their OL is playing much better than when we played in Lincoln. We have shown an ability to give up yards between the tackles, and that was when Baker was playing. We'll get a full dose of Ball and White this time around. You can bank on it. Our defense has to win 1st down. It is that simple. That and not turn the ball over, which we have a tendency to do.

Well said Skerz. We are in for a very tough game this weekend but am confident we'll win. Wisconsin is a good team and well coached. They will be ready for us and they want the the B1G Championship victory as badly as the huskers so we need to be ready to play a solid 4 quarters of football. I would love for the huskers to make this a blow out win but my gut tells me that it will be a close victory for the huskers. Anyway, good luck huskers. We're ready to become conference champs again.

  • Wisconsin plays a tough north-south run game coupled with a good, but not great passing attack. This is Bo's "Wheelhouse" on D.

Taylor will actually be tougher on them than Miller was because he is a better passer than Braxton, and we now have a healthy Rex, who is a great off-tackle runner, the only place Wisconsin is vulnerable against the run.

The success our team has had over the last 6 games has given our guys a high level of confidence, and we are hungrier than the Badgers.

The game will be hard-fought, but we will play our best game of the season and pull away in the second half to win by ten points.

  • I was up with you until the last line.

I we play our best game of the year, this thing will not be a 10 point game. This game is likely a close game, but has potential to be a blowout if the huskers can put it all together.

i agree with this. if we manage to play our "best game of the year" we win by 17+

Nothing Wisconsin can do will surprise or overwhelm us. They are playing a 3rd string QB who is completing a whopping 52% of his passes in games against Ohio State, Indiana and Penn State. Our defense is better than those, particularly against the pass. He can run, but if the defense keeps that in check and forces him to make deep, accurate throws, I don't think he'll have the success Stave did against the defense last time around. Montee Ball is Montee Ball, he'll get his yards and a TD or two without a doubt, but if he gets those on a lot of 3/4 yard runs instead of gashing us for 20+ I think the coaching staff would be cool with that.

The bottom line is this: if Nebraska loses this game it will be because of turnovers and other mistakes. I'm more worried about us than Wisconsin.

    I agree!

  • Two things scare me. First, NU scores to go up by two with under two minutes to play and kick the ball out of bounds. Second, NU has a two score lead midway through the second quarter and a chance to increase on that lead, but they throw an interception in the end zone.

Seriously, nothing. This team has tried almost every way possible to lose games this year, but finds a way to win. It may not be pretty, but NU wins.

For sure. He'll be huge for us Sat. I hope the O can move the ball like they did in the 2nd half.

That was all I was thinking as well as I was watching the replay. Focused on the defensive line the whole time and watching how well Baker held things together in the middle has me even more concerned for this week. I am having bad visions of Ball popping off 5-8 yards a pop. Can we slow the run game down at all and force them to pass?
