    Agreed. I've heard that it takes 6 UVs to wipeout 1 DV. Does anyone know if that is correct?

  • Don't believe that is true. You are allowed to use 1 down vote for every 5 up votes you use - could that be what you're thinking of here? Of your 25 votes per day you can only use a max of 5 down votes - if you've "earned" them by using your up votes.

    I'll play the devil's advocate and say that if you're going to hand out UV's for nothing, then you're devaluing the whole concept.

    Kind of like the government trying to solve the national debt by printing more money. It doesn't work.

    Kind of like the Cub Scouts giving out merit badges for sleeping and breathing. No worthwhile impact.

    I agree there are some total a**-hats on the board who hand out DV's just to make their miserable lives's better, but free UV threads are not the answer. Eliminating down votes altogether is the better idea. That way, an up vote actually means something, assuming you're really into the program.

    You do have a valid point but your kind of ruining our mood here man whistling

    On the serious side, doing away with DVs would be a good idea but sometimes a post is so bad/mean/ugly that a DV is the only way we can express ourselves when the occasion arrises.

  • I love me some TUF. While I like spreading around UV's herein, I've decided to try to spread out the love throughout the day in a variety of threads until my UV chamber is empty. I mean, you guys might get spoiled. biggrin
