The oddities of College Baseball

Nebraska has arguably its biggest series of the regular season this weekend at home against first-place Purdue. I wanted to run through a couple oddities of the college baseball voting and RPI that have cropped up this week.
-- Nebraska currently sits No. 71 in the RPI, up three spots from last week after taking two of three from Ohio State.
-- Ohio State sits at No. 39 in the RPI and actually moved UP one spot in the RPI despite dropping two of three at home.
-- Following last weekend's series win over Iowa, Nebraska got 11 votes in the USA Today/Coaches Poll. After taking two of three against Ohio State, Nebraska got no votes in this week's poll.
-- Purdue, by the way, enters this weekend as the No. 10 team in the country RPI-wise.

Ha. Kind of what I'm wondering. Michigan State took two of three from Indiana and fell 13 spots this week

The coaches poll thing is the most interesting to me. You take two of three against a lower-tier Big Ten team, get 11 votes. Take two of three on the road against a second-place Big Ten team, no votes.

Don't try to explain this to the football people, they won't get it. At least there is a playoff at the end so the voting doesn't matter.
