The "Captain Obvious" thread

  • This thread is for the obvious. Since every topic is the same old same... Let's state the obvious. Feel free to add.

    1. Taylor Martinez can't throw the football.
    2. Bo Pelini is the man for the job, he's still learning the position.
    3. We are young, everywhere!
    4. For some reason, Husker fans expect a national championship every year. It's a great thought, I wish I could happen, but lets be realistic here.
    5. If we get out of our own way, we will win more then we lose.

    It's been an odd season, but I'm not too disappointed. New conference, lots of new players. The future is bright. If you don't like it, think back to the Callahan years. (forbidden)

  • Thanks guys. I said it somewhere else but I really think the difference in the game was penalties. The false starts really put a lot of pressure on Martinez because it allowed our DL to be more aggressive. I really believe that was the difference.

    I will say our fanbase loves going to Omaha in the CWS every year. Baseball is big for us and we hope to be able to come back this year.

    I think we all appreciate guys like CockAtLaw, and I know there was another USC fan around too that was pretty cool. Just happens I am in a bad mood after a crappy loss, and I don't feel like dealing with them lol.

    11 wins is pretty impressive. Especially when you consider that you 5th year QB was kicked off the team and your Stud HB was gone too.

    congrats. You guys played a solid all around game. Got lucky when you needed to and didn't turn the ball over. The team played pretty well too i guess

    From the outside looking in, I think you are dead on with 4 of 5 points. USC was better in the 2nd half and the difference in the game was that we adjusted imo.
    1.Martinez, while having an unusual motion, hit his receivers, and they just flat out dropped the ball after being hit in the breadbasket at least 5 times.

    3.You are very young as a team but very talented. Not sure I want to play you again in 2 years.
    4.Hell, we ain't won a "CONFERENCE" championship in 40+ years...so I ain't gonna go there.
    5.Good teams sometimes struggle at times trying to find out just how good they really are (Alabama vs. Carolina 2010). I believe that you have the pieces to make a run in the near future.
    It seems like like it was a strange season for both teams, you guys with a new conference, and us trying to get to the next level.Here's to both of our teams for 2012!!thumbsup

    2. Verdict is still out. His act (blow out losses, lack of discipline on the field, embarrasing performances like today, acting like an idiot on the sideline, acting like an idiot with the media, etc, etc, etc) is wearing with thin with me.
    3. I don't know what you mean by being young. Sounds like an excuse for poor play, no heart, and no discipline.
    4. I don't what Husker fans expect that, but i expect that we are competitive, we are prepared, we are focused, we play with passion, and we compete with the elite teams in the nation.
    5. Of course. That goes for every team.
