I know bleed goes to Beertopia quite often. Their beer list is huge.

Tonight, velvet Merlin and anti hero on tap. These are just solid beers I would never turn down. Merlin is just right up my alley interns if oatmeal stouts and Anti Hero is a no fail IPA that never fails to be fresh. They sell this in a canned 6 packs and it is just as good from the can as it is on tap. I am becoming a believer in the can. I hope companies are realizing the advantages to the can.

Boys, if we get to make a trade this year I think ill through in Anti-Hero. Just an all around quality IPA with awesome hop character. Can't imagine any complaints.

Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout- OMG it's amazing everytime. The head is as thick as whipped cream. You could take a pinky of head and watch the froth slowly sink back into the head. Amazing. Beyond that, the flavor is just so pure. It's like a superhuman, imperial version of Guinness with greater flavor. Incredible. Had it so many times, and it NEVER disappoints.
Double Jack - I don't have to say much. This is a world class DIPA. Had 2 glasses.
90 Minute - same... World class. Not quite on the level as DJ, but certainly a beer id never turn down.
West Coast IPA - Had this a while back in Nebraska in a time when IPAs were new to me. I loved it then and I still love it now. My favorite beers are west coast styled beer that go above ans beyond... this brew is the basic profile upon which almost all great west coast IPAs brews I've had are built off of. For that reason I understand why this is regularly called the quintessential west coast IPA. It's just so solid. Nothing mind blowing, but it's just exactly an IPA drinker is expecting. A quality brew.

Belgian beers have a distinct taste because the use different kind of yeast and sugar that gives it a distinct taste.

There is almost too much out there. Ill try to find a simple break down for you. Where are you living these days?

iBR and Bob are both familiar with the craft scene around that area. The thing with craft is its all very regionalized so certain states have access to certain brews.

Here's the first link ill put up. This is a site that breakdown almost every craft brewery in the country and where they are available. You can even do comparisons between states and see which states share distribution of certain beers.

It won't help you find what beers you will like but it will help you know why is easily accessible to you.

The beer world has lots of stuff to try. If you are a whiskey or wine guy, you'll understand that each drink has its own taste. Not everything taste like Bud, Miller, and Coors.

The pallete is something that is different for everyone and changes over time. There's so much fricking content on the Internet about it but this link I found pretty helpful or someone who is starting out fresh. Certain beers are more easily drinkable and some will take time to appreciate the complexity. More for some than others. I'm only about to turn 24 and can say I've tried almost evey style of beer and have enjoyed all of them at one time or another.

As you can see I am passionate about it and need to stop rambling so much out there than people realize. Especially in Nebraska where its typically give me a bud/coors or give me death. If people only knew why they were missing.

There a lot if people out there willing to help. None more so than the guys at these bottle shops. They talk your ear off if you're not careful but have a convo with them and they will lead you in the right direction.

I feel like a winner today. This thread has served it's purpose.

crazy. i posted something about st bernardus in the first page or two of this thread i think and now i think everyone here has tried it. its a great beer and as beardown already said it is one of the best from belgium. the brewery itself is on a small cottage so their output is not as much as you'd think ... they are not available everywhere.
