really? i've had bad luck with Boulevard specialty beers... maybe i'll give that one a shot.

the only boulevard specialty beer ive ever had that i enjoyed was I think it was called Lunar Ale. it was pretty good. but none of the others i have tried were good at all.

Boulevard Pilsner is my favorite beer right now, in fact having one now.

Tank 7 is part of their Smokestack series, it's called a Farmhouse Ale and its fantastic. I'm not a fan of their IPAs but I like most of their other stuff. Some more than others.

I will preface this by saying i am new to the Stout game. I have barely dabbled but last nights experience was one I will not soon forget.

Went out to Arrowhead, the golf course across the street from me for Half Price Draft night with tuesday off of work. Needless to say, got there early, left late. This was my first true day taking off work since the spring so didn't even go for the half price stuff first. I went BIG and bought a 12 dollar beer. Goose Island Bourbon Country Stout. It was worth every penny.

I love Bourban but i've never had a beer that incorporated the good parts of whiskey correctly into a beer and still made it taste good. POW, game changer. Entering my mouth from a snifter came the most complex and delicious stout I have ever tasted. 15% alcohol but i'd rather call it candy. I looked up what it's supposed be consumed with, goose islands website said with chocolate cake. Didn't go there, didn't need to...

I know, 12 dollars is too much for a beer. This was more than a beer. This was an experience. I drank this beer for an hour. Each sip tasted better than the last. as the temperature warmed, the flavors morphed. I do not intend to make this a regular occasion. I'd compare the experience to a great victory cigar. All the subtle nuances are fun to find. I can't call myself a experienced beer taster but I know one when I see one. This is a BEER!!

Perfect for night in on the couch, when no one is home to bother you. This beer is all the company you will need.

Haven't checked this thread in awhile but I celebrated with a pitcher of Okanagan Spring Pale Ale at a bar in Niagara Falls. Pretty good for a Canadian beer!
