    considering he said that he didn't consider Oregon State a BCS offer I have to think it's between Us, Oregon and Wisconsin.

  • New article on Stanton... interesting insights from the Wisconsin site. By the way, i would echo Evan's sentiments in the race with Oregon as well, the longer it takes Stanton to make a decision the more likely it will be either Wisconsin or Nebraska.

    Another "by the way" Wisconsin's class is almost full as it is right now, at the most they are looking at 12-13 scholarship players this cycle they currently sit at 10.

  • The longer this plays out the worse. Also say what you want but I don't think it was good that beck was gone during his second visit. He knew that Stanton was coming then scheduled the vacation. I know that doesn't make sense. Stanton said one of the reasons for returning was coach time. I don't think they liked Becks absence. Now that being said I think we still get him but if beck was there I think he would've already committed.

    Scooby - i am with you that every day longer this plays out the probability he is a husker drops. I think he was our last hope for highly sought after qb. I am really torn on the beck deal. I understand in some way if the vacation was scheduled for a long time and the stanton trip just arose but i still think you make some attempt. It would have really shown the stanton's how much the huskers wanted him in the fold. As i have said before if we lose another qb to a conference foe that is really disappointing.

    I don't know if Beck's absence is that big of a deal or not. When Stanton scheduled the second visit he was told that Beck was not going to be there. It's not like they could be surprised by that.

    Scooby I agree with you. Beck should of been there and I understand that the family would feel slighted. Something should/could of been worked out where Beck could of flown back to Lincoln while Stanton and family visited and then after their visit fly back to his vacation spot. Maybe Bo or the university could of used their funds to bring beck back for Stanton.

    Because of this Stanton may be lost to us.frustrated

    I'm fairly certain everybody knew he was going on vacation, and when. I'm fairly certain that Stanton was told as well.

    DA, when I answered I answered as a parent of a upcoming senior searching for a football scholarship. My son is not a 5 star talent but if he was I would be bothered that the OC wasn't their. Would it cause me to tell my son not to go: NO it wouldn't say anything unless he asked me and I would tell him to take time and thing about it later. DA this guy is in a high profile job and should be available when needed. AS I said for those listening the university can pay for his way back to where he is vacationing.

    Someone so disliked what I said that they gave me a down vote. Why? I though that down votes were for something like brow beating someone on this site, etc. I can take the good with the bad but I'm very confused on this.

    I seriously hope you would actually think this. Most people understand family time, I guess you think coaches shouldn't spend time with their families which is just ridiculous. As a parent myself I would have no problem with the OC not being there, especially if it was an unofficial visit. If he wasn't there during an official visit I might think differently.

    (P.S. I'm sure that Beck told Stanton of his plans to go on vacation and when he was going on Stanton's first visit).
