Stadium atmosphere!

  • After today i have a ton more respect for the atmosphere at memorial stadium. Today i went to my first Pro football game. I got to see Payton Manning pick apart Cleveland. I had a great time. Maybe it was because they were playing the browns but the stadium never really felt ALIVE. Like Lincoln does. I hope to make it to a playoff game. That should be a real judge.

Pro Sports stadiums ...meh. A lot of drunken idiots. Don't like Pro Sports, it's all about hype, facile fans and greed. If it weren't for TV revenues Pro Sports would be worth next to nothing.

  • I think the frequency of breaks, and length of breaks during play really sap the emotion from the Pro game. I would much rather just watch at home.

  • I was there today, as well. Today was pretty subdued compared to other games. I've been to quite a few Broncos games and that stadium can rock on big games. Cleveland, however, was not a big game and it showed. Next week against KC will be pretty weak, as well, but the playoffs will be fun. With all that said, I completely agree that the Pro crowd and the college crowd is completely different. Pro crowd can be trashy. Still fun to go though.

  • Also, today was the first game I've been to where the parachuters didn't jump and there was no fly-over. The parachuters into Mile High are a trip to watch. It was pretty windy today, so maybe that had something to do with it.

  • I've only been to one Pro game, GB @ KC, and it was pretty good, but not as good as my best experiences inside Memorial Stadium.

It wasn't quite as electric of an atmosphere from start to finish, but it was easily as loud & probably more fun than Memorial Stadium is on 3rd downs, and it wasn't a very good KC team when I was there. I can understand why Arrowhead is considered one of the better venue's when KC is respectable.

No, the INS isn't chasing him; Taylor Martinez just runs like that. . . .

  • I went to see the jags almost beat the Pats yesterday and there were way too many breaks in the action seems like there were 10 time outs and other stuff going on. I'm not a big fan of pro sports either cause it cost me $26 bucks for two orders of chicken fingers and two waters. Can you say payroll covered. Dang.

If you cant say something nice, shut your damn mouth!! GBR

  • In line with many of these comments, I've settled on the observation that the NFL is about entertainment, not necessarily football. And I think that trickles down to the talent. When I here people on this board or commentators of TV rave about certain players or provide a critique of certain players to make it "at the next level" I cringe because I see no relationship between getting tabbed to play in the NFL and being a good CFB player. This is because of this entertainment (soap opera) facet and the fact that the NFL game is so pigeon holed and radically different (not better) than the CFB game.

  • The Broncos game had a similar atmosphere compared with Nebraska playing a low level OOC game where it is a rout from the get go. The stadium gets plenty loud. Pro sports are getting very corporate so the atmosphere isn't always that great.

That new stadium in Denver still can't hold a candle to the old Mile High Stadium. I'd gladly trade cramped concourses for a sterile stadium.

You are right. Total junk. Lol

I enjoy only being able to get one cheeck to make contact in memorial which makes it a loud stadium but tough to beat club seating in denver.
