great for him, deserves it. If it wasn't for Shavon this past month this team wouldn't be near what they are right now. He's helped in major ways on both sides of the ball. Tough match up anywhere on the floor with his ball handling and scoring prowess. I think he could be a great one by the end of his career, especially as he gets more help around him and an actual point guard.

I've been a bit surprised by how quickly Shields has grown into a solid player. He needed to contribute this year, but he's really exceeded all expectations. Plus, he gets after it in practice. He was the one who broke Craig Smith's nose last week.
