Good article. The player management by Bo is terrible.

Sounds like Tom can't get his facts straight on Todd Peat Jr. and Ryan Klachko or Tyler Moore. Aaron wasn't willing to hang-in to out work and out compete Ameer, and then Rex gets hurt. If he'd stayed and out competed Ameer he might have been the feature back last year. Of course then Braylon would have been just as butt hurt, as he wouldn't have out worked Ameer. Ohio State loses a 4-star RB and 4-star OL and can't bring Clark on board. I guess Urban is just as much a failure at roster management as Bo, what a putz he is.

Reads like Shatel is having an off day here. Nothing new or very interesting.

Benning and Sharpe, this morning, quoted a source stating that 47% of RB's transfer or change position in the first two years. Something like that. Now there's a story worth developing.

A lot of this going on everywhere. And this year there's a lot of de-commits and late shuffling of recruits around the CFB world.

I didn't see in the article where he spoke to why Green left.

NU has had four high-profile recruits leave in the past year: defensive tackle Todd Peat Jr., offensive tackle Tyler Moore, running back Aaron Green and guard Ryan Klachko. Their reasons were different. Girlfriend, homesick, this thing, that thing.

Seems like he is giving two generic reasons and doesn't assign them to any one particular person. I take his point to mean that guys leave for different reasons and it doesn't really matter why they left, the fact is that they left the program.

The last line of Shatel's story is all you need to know that his write-up is pretty useless. "Nebraska cannot afford to lose its top talent." Heard came in as a top talent after he failed to qualify and Nebraska stuck by him. He wanted to play but couldn't supplant AA as the featured back. All the guys that have left have left for different reasons -- Peat Jr looks like he was a miss or his health and flimsy work ethic will keep him from being a good college player. Klatcho retired from football. Moore was homesick. Green was a 5* kid that wanted PT and didn't want to sit another year behind Rex Burkhead or share the backup duties with Heard and Ameer.

I understand the Heard story is getting tired, I agree. Sure would help if Heard or Bo would speak. By all appearance, Heard is good as gone, but until then there will be talk.

In regards to the top backs coming in from CA/TX to prove they belong, 2 years ago we had the top backs from TX/OH coming in to do the same. Both of them are now gone. Just sayin

Actually, it's quite possible that it may be unique to Nebraska. It's not all on Bo either.

The report Damon Benning used this morning spoke to Nebraska having only 3 RB's having stayed 3 yrs or longer at Nebraska since 2002. And there were something like 10 RB's that left the program all together. It was kinda startling.

I'm not saying it *isn't* unique to Nebraska, but whether it is or is not is a salient point, and Mr. Shatel left it largely unexplored.

You or Benning must be off on those stats. Off the top of my head, Jackson played three years before NFL, Lucky played four, Glenn played three (then one at LB), Helu played four, Rex played four, Abdullah is entering his third...I'm sure I'm missing some...and all of those guys were from 2006 or later.

I'm saying in terms of producing... our running game didn't change one iota since Green left... it actually got better from 2011 to 2012. Our line play was bad on the edges, Moore would have helped with that for sure.
