Schaefer's Report Card (Blue Chip Recruiting)

  • Technical: Seemed to be a few technical issues. Schaefer even admitting he apparently had no idea what he was doing and couldn't take it to break. There was a part where like 10 seconds looped and played twice. Technical Grade for a first timer:

    Interviews/Guests: Banderas is a very well-spoken young individual. He seemed like he's talked to media a few times in his young life blank ... i enjoyed the questions and the direction the interviews went. The question for Banderas "what is the most common reaction for recruits at their first Husker experience (gameday)" ... Also liked how the co-host tried to get an ordered list from Clark. Unfortunately Clark did not take the bait. lol ... Interview/Guest Grade:

    A

    Skinny: Overall it was good. Minus the "Quincy Bell" incident... facepalm_msu ... looking forward to future shows and to see what type of guests will continue to contribute to the show. Overall Grade

    B+

    What does everyone else think? any other grades/topics I should touch on?

  • Thank you for your kind assessment. Let's just say I'm a long way from being Chris Schmidt or Gary Sharp. Those guys are pros. Always different when you move up to the big chair.

    Biggest regrets:

    - Wanted to open the show with: Friends, Nebraskans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
    - No BYC mention. Utter failure on my part.
    - Didn't highlight upcoming visitors enough outside of Clark.

    Highlights:

    - Dwayne Johnson joke.
    - Thought both Banderas and Clark sounded great.

    Side Note:

  • I agree IBR. Well done Schaef! Looking forward to your progressions in the studio. I know it's your job but I appreciate all the hard work M&M and also Kevin put in to make our lives of following high school kids enjoyable! Thanks

    you are missing the part when you asked banderas how he approaches recruits and banderas said its kind of "creepy" and you responded with something like "that is my life Josh" lol

    People don't realize how difficult it can be to do live TV or radio. Especially when you are interviewing people.

    its just his way to make sure we listen next week for the BYC shoutout... then it will be week 3, 4, 5 and before we know it he'll be on episode 8 and still no BYC shoutout. facepalm_msu
