Sandland = Herian

Anyone think Sandland could have been a Pelini's Herian for Nebraska?
I remember that kid was getting a TON of press about how high he projected in the draft before he broke his leg.

I remember being on the Herian Train. Wasn't he averaging like 40 yards per catch on the few catches he had the season before his injury?
For the question, I think he would of been the closet to it from the TE's on our board.

I'm much happier with Cethan. He's a much more versatile talent and will contribute for more years in a variety of ways than Sandland. Crying over spilled milk seems to be a superfluous exercise.

Another up vote for Zonie...got to be like 10 today Only reason I dont mind sooooo much is bc we actually have him for 4 years rather than 2...but still would rather we had SAndland and McWilson

Cethan Carter is a better investment... Sandland would have helped immediately though.

No, Herian was exceptionally fast. He ran a legit 10.7 100 meters in high school. Sandland isn't anywhere near that fast.

If Sandland tears it up at Miami, then we can whine and cry about him not signing here. Not sure he is like Herian but Herian's potential never matched his game performance likely due to injury. If Sandland's career is the same then we won't have really missed out.

I just didn't follow terribly close until probably '06 which was my sophomore year of high school. Obviously watched before then, but certainly wasn't as familiar with the roster as I am nowadays.

Sandland is certainly a talented TE and would have been another weapon in Beck's offense.
Herian is/was in a different category though - really exceptional speed that you very rarely find at that position. A game changer at TE that the opposing defenses had to account for in a big way. LBs just couldn't cover him and very few safeties had the physicality to win the ball in the air.
