He'll be regarded as a tough guy who put it all on the line and very much respected.
Iron Man has to go to Tom Novak who actually played both sides of the ball.
I'm sure Mr. Novak would laugh at the 'platoon' type system of college football now in which guys don't play both sides of the ball.

Concur on Tom Novak.
Without question, though, Rex has earned the soubriquet, Superman.

I think he may be more well-remembered than that. Rex is Nebraska's first All-B1G football, and will likely be no worse than top ten in rushing and could be top five.
Depending on how the team itself fares this year, he could be remembered for even more.
I think he ranks right up there with the toughest RBs in Nebraska history.
