  • penalties on special teams were a killer, when we do not have an athletic advantage over the other team, these unforced errors are critical and will need to be fixed if we expect to be relevant when we compete with the big boys

  • We have really got to put more time and emphasis on special teams. It is as if we treat it like it is some needless formality that has to be done as opposed to utilizing special tems to create momentum and make drastic differences in field position and the outcome of games.

Coach Osborne stressed having great special teams during his career as he was/is a firm beleiver of their impact on a game. Especially in games where you may be out-talented, special teams can be a great equalizer. You could literally credit at least 1 win a year for Nebraska to its special teams under Osborne.

I can't even remember the last time we blocked a punt or kick?

  • Coaches didn't put our secondary in positions to be successful either. They were obvious with their coverages on 3rd down as well as their blitzes that got snuffed out very easily. Needed to disguise more of our defense. Didn't play well at all today defensively on the back end.

Part of that is just talent and nothing more.

  • Not in the right position? I could have swore I seen our defenders there they just couldnt defend the jump ball. Georgia has one of the best QB's in college football with an athletic receiving corps. Thought the coaches did a pretty good job...I never thought during this game we were getting out-coached...just out-played
    Definitely loved the effort though!

First we need a coach that has some ST knowledge to teach!

  • Our defensive backs were in position to make plays but failed to do so. I think that was because Georgia's wide receivers were just so athletic and Murray is just one heck of a quarterback! I'm not one that settles for moral victories but I'm very proud of the way Nebraska took Georgia into the fourth quarter with the game in doubt. I don't think any Nebraska fan expected the Huskers to score 31 on Georgia and put Nebraska in position to win the game and I don't think any Georgia fan expected their Bulldogs to have to rally to pull away late to win the game. Penalties and turnovers once again hurt the Huskers but I loved Nebraska's effort. They came out focused and determined and took it to Georgia. The future looks bright for Nebraska. They return virtually their entire offense next year and their defense will be quicker and more athletic. I cannot wait for spring football. Go Big Red!

  • That long td pass should have been brought back. Boo home cooking. The long TD should have been called back for two reasons
Illegaman down field. OT 6 yards down field on before the pass was thrown over the line of scrimmage
Offensive pass interference on TE for blocking downfield before the pass was thrown.

Other then that. Great job Dogs.

If you cant say something nice, shut your damn mouth!! GBR

I normally agree with klein, but have to agree with you on this. Obviously, TJ thought our guys could match up, and they couldn't.
