Recruiting Idea

Let me preface this by saying it is not mine, I just wanted to see what y'all thought because I personally thought it was a great idea. In a recruiting letters send kids a QR code they can scan with their phone to link to personalized videos from the coaches or general info about the program. Unlimited possibilities in terms of data mining.

Thanks for posting this smith. Yeah I posted this idea on tos cuz a poster posted stuff about the letters that other schools send out being much more eye catching than ours.
How could we get this idea to the ad department?
You could do some cool things with it.

Sure thing scoob. I appreciate you coming up with the idea, personally I think its great. I think on TOS a guy said we already have a web portal kids can link to in the letter which is great but I think this is a much better way to direct traffic there from the snail mail letters. Shoot I'm in grad school and I am much more likely to scan one of those with my phone than type in an address, its a dumb gadgetry thing I suppose but its the world we are in!
The only thing I can think of would be to make a sample letter and email it to eichorst or something? I would be willing to help out with it if you wanted to do that. Anyways we would probably stand a much better chance of being paid attention to if we got someone who any connection to the program get it to Eichorst for us. Perhaps there would be a willing booster on here?
