Payton Manning

  • Proves to be clutch in the playoffs once again. Now 9-11 in the playoffs. Great regular season Qb but is like A-Rod in the post season.

  • yep.. just got out-dueled by Joe Flacco.

  • Ravens defense is the hero tonight.

  • It did help that the broncos couldn't cover anyone more than ten yards down field. I don't put this one all on Payton. He did have more than his share of mistakes though.

  • Champ Bailey got schooled today, that is where the Broncos lost.

    Blackshirts27

  • They were only in it because of the two kick returns.

  • Payton's int in overtime surely didn't help by any means.

  • They sure are. UV for you.

  • Peyton got the Broncos up 35-28 - Ravens faced a 3rd and 10 on their 30 with 40 secs remaining and no timeouts. Somehow this shows Peyton wasn't clutch? For an Arod comparision, that would be like Arod hitting a go ahead HR in the 9th only to see the closer blow it and then Arod doesn't hit another HR in extra innings and now it is his fault they lost. Peyton's turnovers weren't helpful and the last INT was bad but this is example of the meaningless of won-loss records for individual players in the total team game.

  • I am sorry Champ Bailey played a hell of a game and he would of been MVP if the rest of the team would of played at all. Is that better, sorry I pointed out that he gave up 2 TD catches and if Flaco would of put a little more air on another pass he would of gave up 3. He was burnt by 6 yards on that 1. Even the announcers said he played like crap, did you down vote them?

    Blackshirts27

  • Manning did his job. Whoever # 26 is in the Denver secondary choked big time. Complete mental breakdown with 30 seconds left.

The game tying TD by Baltimore with :31 left was on the defense but Payton's play the entire game is on him. Two int's and a fumble lost. Take away two special teams TDs and the Broncos aren't even in the game. What was Payton able to do in overtime? Nothing?! Sounds about right. These performances in the post season are about what you expect from Manning.

The first INT hit Decker right in the hands and it popped straight up in the air.

Second one was a throw he shouldn't have made.

First int was a blatant no call of pass interference. That was the real start of the nightmare of a day. Refs and Ravens vs the Broncos. Most pitiful officiated game I have seen. Horrible. And still should have won.

Fix is an idiot, to put it nicely. The refs wanted the Ravens to win, and Moore pulled a complete dumb ass attack at the worst possible time.

Even then, why kneel down with 31 secs to go and two time outs when you have a HOF QB and only need a FG to win. I haven't been so effing mad at a football game in a long time. I wanted to cry (I know) tears. It was crushing. Ravens had no business winning that game.

And Manning in no way shape or form lost this game. And minus that Moore play, the defense played plenty good enough to win. Von was being held every freekin play. No calls. God I'm still pissed.

    AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cry

  • This reminds me of the 96 team. And in 97 we won the Super Bowl. I'm predicting that repeat.

  • The NFL is changing. Peyton manning and Tom Brady better get it while they can. They are the last of a diein breed.

Ya these young running QBs are taking over, but I think NFL DCs will start putting more into stopping the zone read. They are making these defenses look to stupid not to concentrate on it more in mini camps and preseason.

One INT not his fault and the second a result of poor protection and bringing a pass down and reloading. Turnovers are hard to deal with but Peyton didn't play poorly. The special teams took away two possessions from Peyton and the Broncos yet the Broncos still ran far more plays than did the Ravens. The Denver D giving up big plays was the problem, not Manning. He wasn't perfect but this loss falls on the moron on safety that misplaced the punt/long bomb with 40 seconds remaining.

It's hard to stop. And it will open up the middle. It's the next wave and it is not goin to be easy to defend. Not a fad, IMO

If I am a QB in the NFL running the zone read, I am asking for big, big money. And if I am an owner with a QB running the zone read, I am reluctant to give a long term deal to a zone read QB because the injury risk is high. It will be interesting. I am guessing NFL defensive coordinators adjust this offseason.

  • If you are committed to the scheme you get a backup. Tim Tebow. I don't understand why people fear this. There are going to be lots of people available who are capable of running this system.

I would ask for the big bucks too though haha

    beardown2489

  • The team need to be committed the the system. Going from RG3 to cousins silly to me. Doesn't make sense. Your back up should be able to operate the same offense as the starter. Doesn't make sense to be forced to have a backup game plan just in case your starter goes down. I don't get why people say Tebow has no value going foward. He would be of great value to Seattle, or Sam Fran, or Washington.

  • Yeah I suppose that Manning was playing defense on Torrey Smith too? He played fine...The defense completely let them down.
