Sorry to here that, hope they are doing okay. My brothers family knows of at least three families that lost homes. There is suppose to be more wind today, which is why it exploded yesterday. At one point yesterday, it jumped three miles in five minutes.

Much better afternoon today, but this fire is far from any containment. I would guess that this will burn for the next month. North of the academy is a bunch of houses as well and plenty of fuel. Another day of 60+ mph winds and it will be bad again. El niño is suppose to bring some moisture this way in mid July. We did get some rain from Denver down to monument, north of the academy.

My friend that lives east of I-25 said that the fires were all west of I-25 and to the north. Also have a friend who close buddy from the Springs just visited here and said that is an arsonist that is lighting one fire and then moves and lights another one.
