OT: UFO's.... real? **NEW VIDEO PRETTY COOL**

  • So I was searching youtube while driving around for something to listen to and stumbled across this video...

    After watching it, there is a lot of question to UFO's and life on other planets etc etc...

    What do you guys/gals think?

    I can understand the ghost stand point, what I dont understand is how the universe can be so vast that only 1 spot could have life... Now I am not saying I think we have been "visited", but to write off the rest of the vastness of space is fairly narrow minded.

  • Another thing to consider: could some of these "visitors" be humans from our future? Who is to say that time travel is impossible? Seems it is to us at the present time, but what if it isn't? Just something to think about.

    according to the theory of relativity time travel is possible... as for "someone out there," I don't concern myself with those thoughts much. I suppose it could be possible, but it doesn't concern me. I do like Independence Day.

    It's not a matter of "writing off" the vastness of space, it's a matter of "acknowledging" its vastness. And the vast expanse of time, as well.

    There are more galaxies in the universe than stars in our galaxy. The distance from star to star is too much to travel and the distance between galaxies is so much more. The only way to get around these vast distances is by some implausible invention. Call it a Magic carpet. Even if some people invented one and used it extensively, there still is the time factor.

    The universe is ~15 billion years old. Homo Sapiens are ~100 thousand years old. An unbelievably tiny fraction of the age of the universe. Even if we lasted for a million years, that's nothing in comparison to the time available. Intelligent life could be springing up, living long, then dying out in many, many places - each in there own time - and never meet another.

    Vast distances, vast amounts of time, short (relatively speaking) life times could very well mean we will never meet any other life.

  • Anyone living in Phoenix or Tucson in March of 1997 that can fog a mirror knows that some sentient life form, somehow presented it's tetrahedron ~mile wide UFO to tens of thousands of credible witnesses for a number of hours.

    Are we talking inter-dimensional reality, worm holes, quantum principles at play ...don't know, but the fact is that a huge black triangular UFO did evidence itself.

    I interviewed my wife's God Father, who was the Fire Chief of Mauston, WI about being called to the scene of a UFO that had landed on a farm outside of the town. When he arrived he witnessed a saucer-like vehicle on the ground beginning to lift off, just as the Chief of Police arrived. The craft raised in the air in front of them and then vanished in an instant. They walked to the landing area and found it to evidence pod prints and scorched grass.

    So, yes. I totally believe in UFO's. Now how and who that is, I have no idea.

    I used to watch videos on this type of stuff all the time. If you traveled around an object with a very large mass (like a black whole) at nearly the speed of light (according to this theory you can't actually travel the speed of light) you would actually slow "time" down and basically go back in time when you stopped.

    The Arizona incident is something that no one can explain... I was hoping someone from there would chime in about it as that was a HUGE deal. My uncle was there and has film of it, said it was the most unreal thing he has ever seen in his life.

  • This has always been a fun arguement, did we actually land on the moon? (I think they did, but some of the pictures and arguments make "some" sense)

    Also why are we not able to see the United States flag on the surface?

    Bingo.I say that exact same thing all the time. There has to be life somewhere else in the universe. There is probably a planet that still has dinosaurs out there.

    "Ok, this will be my last one then I'm going to sleep. To address the light speed Einstein / hawking statement:

    Breaking lightspeed is impossible. Approaching it however, entirely possible. Einstein proved with relativity that mass (gravity) has an affect on everything, including time. Objects with huge mass have the ability to bend time around them. So imagine we had a spaceship that could travel incredibly fast, just under the speed of light (possible) and we could an object with an incredie amout of mass (eg a black hole). So we travel to this black hole, and begin to orbit. Time bends around the black hole, and therefore our ship. As we approach lightspeed, time bends even more, and begins to slow down. We orbit the black hole for a year, and the distortion caused by the huge mass caused time to slow from our perspective, and 100 years passed on earth. So we effectively traveled 99 years, and 49 weeks into the future.

    Furthermore, imagine ww built another vehicle that could travel at almost the speed of light (again, possible) and we had this vehicle on earth. We sent the vehicle in an orbit around earth, and it began approaching the speed of light. Relativity tells us that you cannot travel beyond the speed of light, that it is a universal speed limit of sorts. So the train plateaus at just under the sol. But, there are people on board this train, what if they run from the back to the front? They will effectively be breaking the sol and a universal law of physics. So, in order to correct this, time again bends around the vehicle, causing it to slow for everyone inside, unbeknownst to everyone outside. Again, a week goes by on the vehicle, while years go by outside, again, effectively traveling into the future.

    Aint exactly like doc brown said, but it'll do. "
