  • Played Johnny Goodman today, course is in AMAZING condition. It's looking better than a lot of the private courses in town. Greens are incredible. Been a while since I've been over there, I was thoroughly impressed.

If you're looking for a place to play some quality early season golf in Omaha, I highly recommend it.

  • Always love playing there. Mature trees, kept in great shape and really affordable -- especially on weekdays.

  • Both Omaha and Lincoln have some pretty darn well kept MUNI courses.

It's always been one of my favorites, but I don't think many understand how hard it is to keep a course up that takes that kind of traffic. Some CC needs to snatch up their super because that guy is doing an AMAZING job. I've played Woodlands, Quarry, and Players Club already this year, and Johnny blew them away condition-wise.

Get your rounds in quick though because they're aerating early next week!

Seriously shoot me a PM or Email and let see if we can make this happen. Maybe I can bring out Meyerkids and a friend who will kill us all.

Thats no kidding... Holmes and Highlands are the best in Lincoln for Muni's... Pioneers if you need a change of pace.

  • I have found over the last couple years of traveling around the state... playing at some of those older small town courses is a lot of fun. Though a lot of them are a lot shorter, their tighter to compinsate, smaller greens, and lots of blind landings.

Woodland is usually a spring course for best shape... they have a problem with drainage and the bent grass doesn't do well with standing water and heat.

I miss playing the 1978 as we called it. Is Gene still there? When I lived in Omaha, I played there about once a week with a group of guys. The par threes can be brutal on a windy spring day.

Lot better munis and little 9 holers in the tri-city and surrounding area. I always wanted to play Alliance. I think it borders the airport.

Need to add North Bend CC to your list. Great little 18 hole course with greens I'd put up against any course in Omaha. Fast and immaculately kept.

I'll email you about playing some golf!
