OT- Nascar Brawl

  • Man if this happens every week I might actually watch Nascar

On-track incident between Jeff Gordon, Clint Bowyer touches off brawl - ESPN

NASCAR officials say it's too early to predict whether drivers or crew members will be suspended for being involved in fights following a wreck between Jeff Gordon and Clint Bowyer late in Sunday's race at Phoenix International Raceway.

  • Impossible.

While I respect the sack it takes to do what they do, I'll never get excited about watching a bunch of rednecks drive around in circles for 4 hours every Sunday.

Yeah. This. That NASCAR always seems to have a presence on ESPN to me is just ridiculous, its neither a sport nor entertaining.

  • Meh. It's like a baseball brawl. Lots of punches thrown, pushing and nobody gets hurt.

In the words of Bill Simmons, you could throw a chainsaw into a pile of brawling baseball players and fail to draw blood.

While I don't care for NASCAR, it is very physically and mentally demanding to drive at well over 180 MPH for such long periods of time.

  • I would watch every week if I was promised a pit brawl. Looked like something out of WWE!

You don't find NASCAR to be exciting, but you find watching grown men dressed in tights run up and down a field for 3 hours to be entertaining? lol

To be clear there is more difference between two NASCAR tracks than there is between 100 football fields. Or basketball courts, soccer, hockey, volleyball, ect... Im not trying to pick on you, but I've always thought that view funny, and wrong. There is a lot more to it that driving in circles. To each his own I guess.

No, the INS isn't chasing him; Taylor Martinez just runs like that. . . .

If you want to define the different courses then fine. But you need to do that if you wish to delineate the difference from a Road Course to a Super straightaway. On one the drivers must emulate Open Wheel Indy race courses, which are much more interesting and demanding (and fun to drive), where the top speed is 80 MPH and the boring oval tracks. I've driven both, and NASCAR sucks compared to an Open Wheel Racer.
