  • I have neither, but I have the S2 and it is amazing and the S3 is even better.

Plus in general, Android >>> Apple.

  • Before I talk to much. I'll let you know that I own an Iphone5, but also own a customer built desktop and HP laptop. So I'm not a fan boy by any means but I am probably a bit biased to the iphone. I did own one of the first gen droids though, course the ones now kick more ass.

Both phones are great. It depends what you would rather do. I have itunes and use my phone as an MP3 player, so the iphone is much easier to use in that regard. I know you can use itunes with android but I know it isn't anywhere as easy as the iphone. I did have to buy a 32gb because the iphone does not have removable storage which is kind of a bummer, but The ability to easily sync with itunes is worth it for me. Also, the iphone does not freeze, or lag at all. I know the S3 has better specs but it is all about software. And because of the software it is not as customizable as an S3, but again that makes the phone smoother. Phone easily fits in my hand and the battery lasts forever as long as I'm not doing anything crazy on it.I haven't dropped a call with it yet and I have Verizon in Lincoln. I like the 4 inch screen, it's big enough but not huge. I'm not really into the really big screens though, again whatever your preference. Also, you do get apps usually first on the Iphone, might cost a buck. But I have apps that people with droids can't get.

S3 is solid if you want a larger screen, dont really care about itunes or are okay with dealing with the harder sync. If you plan on downloading all kinds of things on your phone the removable memory is sweet. Samsung makes solid phones so, just like the iphone, the S3 should last you a long time. Widgets are pretty sweet. The more you have the more it slows your phone. But it would take a lot to slow it down, and again, they are pretty sweet. Ton's of free apps.

Really it is all about preference. I don't think you can really go wrong with either phone. I use to work for Verizon so I have played with an S3, but someone that owns one would be able to tell you more about battery life and that kind of stuff. I could talk all day about phones, but I should really study for my calculus test. Good luck, hope this helps a little

  • Like Blue, I have the S2, and my wife has the iPhone so I use both. Really, you can't go wrong.
Galaxy: great screen size, if you're a typer/texter it helps quite a bit. If you're a 'google guy' and commit to their integrated suite, the functionality is great, including contact management. Only real complaint is battery life. If you hook to wi-fi, it extends the battery life quite a bit. Untethered, I can run it to zero in about 8-10 hours real easy with just average use.
iPhone: probably not much to share beyond what you already know...abundance of apps, better battery life, iTunes integration is sweet, lack of google maps is a pain if you use for navigation.

I use my phone mainly for web and e-mail access, not much voice, some mapping, not much music, and the fun but not essential apps. So Galaxy has been a good fit for my needs, but my wife wouldn't trade her iPhone for anything, because she's a gabber and tune player.

  • I have the s3 and will never look back. Screen isn't that big if you have big hands. Fiance has Iphone and it's alright. I bought it straight out just to keep unlimited data from old Verizon plan. They spread The payments out for me too. Don't know if that helps? I can do everything and more with my s3.

  • I currently have the original galaxy s, i find the OS to be clunky and it freezes on me once a day atleast. Here is a big problem for me, I hate white phones but the Iphone is on backorder. Keep the comments coming, i appreciate any help I can get.

Does the green tint bother you? That and the color are the things holding me back. I5 is currently leading in my head.

Yea, I was worried that it was gonna be too big, but I held it in the store the other day and it wasn't too bad. Gonna look goofy when making calls, but I dont really talk on the phone much.

  • If you aren't totally set on the GS3 if you go Android (which I am a huge Android guy), you might check out the HTC One X line. I have the Sprint version, the EVO 4G LTE and absolutely love it. The battery life is off the charts and the screen on the HTC One line is the best out there.

I have an iPad 3 and the wife and I both have the Evos and neither of us would even consider having the iOS on our daily drivers, we just don't care much for it overall, WAY too limited on customizing. I love having my live weather on my homescreen and the option to have live email, twitter updates, etc. Also like the widget that updates my most contacted contacts, where I can easily email/call/text/whatever the people I contact the most.

The GS3 is being marketed extremely well and I think it's a fantastic phone overall.

  • If you can wait, the Windows 8 phone is coming out soon. Samsung, HTC and Nokia will all have their own phones with this software on it.
    Getting rave reviews so far.

Just something to think about. To me, it all comes down to what each individual likes best with their phone. If talking and texting is what you mainly do, you do not need all the bells and whistles and lay out of $$$ for a smart phone.

Plenty of choices to choose from.

  • Well I went with the GS3, currently posting from it, its pretty damn sweet.

Sweet, sometimes I wish I would've waited a month so I could've compared both the GS3 and my EVO. Although I freaking love my EVO.

    Congrats!

Might look into rooting it, if you would like to really be a phone dork like myself.
