Notre Dame: 3-0 vs Big 10: We Are Better than the Dame, Right?

  • Wanna talk smack against Notre Dame?

    Wanna say they are overrated?

Wanna hate them with every fiber of your being?

Well is just got a lot tougher.

The Irish, yes that Irish, are now 3-0 against the Big 10 and 4-0 overall. Two of those wins include Michigan and Michigan State. Two teams we would very much like to beat.

We may as well crown Nortre Dame as the Big 10 champs.

Why? Because nobody is beating Purdue, Michigan, and Michigan State this year. Well..., outside of Notre Dame.

Huskers will get their chance with @ Ohio State, @ Michigan State, and Michigan. A bit tougher road, but not all that easier than the one Notre Dame already paved.

By the way, Notre Dame still has to play Oklahoma, USC, and Stanford. Damn those easy Irish schedules.

Time to run the table and win this conference.

  • We have more offensive firepower than Dame.
They are much better on the OL and the defensive front seven.

  • Still not impressed. Good looking defense. But 6 takeaways has got to be converted into more than 13 points, AT HOME...

You are entitled to your opinion about Notre Dame being better than any B1G team but I disagree. They do appear to be good this year and will probably get a BCS bowl invite at the end of this season but the Huskers are getting their act together and if they continue to improve then the huskers may be invited to a BCS bowl also.

The huskers will do very well this year against all other B1G teams.

The Domers are very good on D, not so much on O.

If our O continues to improve we could score on them. At this time our D is too weak to beat them.

We need more talent on our front 7. I think that means that we bring Cooper down to LB and have him be effective, Santos learns the playbook, and one or two of the frosh DL's come on strong. That is a lot to hope for.

  • I don't think words could describe how much I would LOVE to beat up ND in a nationally televised game. It would make my year.

  • They are 2-5 against us in the past 7 years. (one of which was during our first year with RichRod where we went 3-8 and the other is this year)

One year does not make them suddenly better than us.

They are 4-3 against Michigan State in the same time span.

The only team they win consistently against (in the B1G) is Purdue. That's it.

Against the biggest 4 programs in the B1G right now (UM, MSU, OSU, NU), they only have a winning record against MSU all-time.

They are better than you and probably most, if not All of the big ten teams this year. Talking about the past is pointless in this discussion.

Until they face more than 6 B1G schools in one year, you cannot just claim they are better than the B1G just based off of three games. Simple as that.

This is the first time since 2002 (when they went 10-3) that they have went undefeated against the 3 B1G schools they usually face, and you have to go to 1993 till they have done that again (when they had Lou Holtz and won the Cotton Bowl).

This argument is similar to saying Michigan is better than the entire SEC in 2007 since we went undefeated going against them (we won against the Tebow-led Florida team)

Just to be clear, we should get the order correct, It's....

They faced 3 of the top Big ten programs this year and Won them, so yes I can comfortably say, they are better than Most, if not all Big Ten Teams.

Did Michigan beat 3 SEC teams in 07. I don't think so.

BTW which teams do you think could beat ND.

    Iowa - No
    Minny-- No
    NwU--No
    Wisky-- No
    Pedo state-- No
    Illini-- No
    Indy -- No
    Ohio state -- maybe
    Nebraska -- maybe.

I'm kind of with Lando here. Michigan and Michigan st are both in the top tier for the Big 10 and one of those two teams could win the Big 10 this year. So I find it hard to not, at the very least consider that Notre Dame would win the Big 10.

After these four weeks, Notre Dame would be the easy favorite to win the B1G. Except they wouldn't win it. We'd kick their butts.
