  • Actually on the other site, a former NW qb gave an excellent analysis on our defensive scheme and why it worked so well. He basically said that BP is one of the top defensive minds in college football and our scheme really boxed NW into a corner. It was quite a compliment to BP from this guy, he said that our D scheme was brilliant and worked to a T.

We played the NW receivers man to man with press coverage, we played our safeties in the middle of the field to take away the crossing routes and over the middle throws. This forced the NW qb to beat us over the top throwing the ball long along the sidelines in lower percentage throws, they did get us on one throw for a TD. The NW qb likes to throw the ball over the middle and make high percentage throws, we took that away.

Evans our nickel back played an excellent game and took away Kolter, this forced the NW qb to look else where and make throws that he wasn't comfortable with. We didn't get a lot of sacks but we did collapse the pocket and made him throw it a little early. Our Dline played a really good game, Santos our LB played a great game and some tackles for losses, we took them out of their run game totally, with out the long run we really shut out their run game.

It was a great read from the NW qb, sorry i can't post the link, one of the best analysis pieces I have read in quite some time. Hopefully BP has another great game plan for Shoelaces and Mich, we are down to just a few DEs and DTs to finish the season, injuries can play a big factor in our success going forward. Should be a great game, the Michigan DC is the real deal, we will see a real chess match between the two DCs Sat night, they will play a big factor in how the game goes. Look for Michigan to really pressure TM when we get behind the chains, they did this last year with a lot of success.

Crowd will be the 12th man again Sat night, we win a close one if we can play a clean game with penalties and win the turnover margin. Shoelaces is loose with the ball, we need to get some big hits on him and make him cough it up and make some bad throws.

Special teams needs to show up Sat night, we can't make stupid unforced errors and win big games against the best teams in the BIG.

Good post across the board, thanks. I like the insight from the NW poster. And yes, given the tools, BP can coach a hell of a D.
