    Meyerkids. You gave an honest assessment before the game and I think many of us had similar concerns. Was glad it worked out the way it did. Also glad on this board folks can post honest views and we can disagree without becoming disagreeable.

    Was so exciting to see the way some of the senior defenders played last night. PJ and Fisher played lights out I thought other than PJ getting caught from behind. Imagine he has heard about that a few times. Watching Fisher react after some of those plays was fun to see. Like he was getting rid of 3+ years of frustration.

  • Hey man, we all had our concerns, and we all had our predictions. I bet there was a at least a dozen people on here predicting a double digit loss and in the same breath hoped the Huskers to prove them wrong. Well Huskers won this round and we can all agree thats how we would like to see it.

    Now let's just take care of business the rest of the season.

    I thought your "pre" game analysis was well thought out, but you have remember this is college football, not the pro's.

    You can break down an NFL game at every level, but in college you have to try and define the intangibles. The ebbs and flows of a college game are affected as much, if not more, by turnovers, lucky bounces, crowd noise, injuries, momentum, and who knows what else. Get a few of those things to go your way in a game, and you may very well win, even if it didn't look like you should on paper or in the film room.

  • Gotta give the defense their props, they played their best game yet. Good job and great win!! Lots of good individual performances. Proud of the defense, great job fellas!

    Martinez sucked it up, but the offense did enough and Maher picked them up. That complete game is still out there.

    I wouldn't say Martinez sucked... He played well when he needed to the most. It was absolutely not his best game, hitting 58% of his passes, but he made plays when he absolutely needed to.

  • He played pretty well in my opinion. He got hot on that drive in the second quarter. The interception wasn't necessarily a bad pass, just a nice play from a linebacker. Looked like a EA Sports like interception from the box.

    I wouldn't give him a great grade by any means, but he did well for the most part. Should have had two touchdowns, but Turner lost the ball.

    Wow. Have to admit, I was waiting for your followup. Man, is this different than your follow up last year after the MSU game. What a change in tone and content. You remember, right?

    So, I gotta ask --- you OK, man? Someone feeding you happy pills? Wife stop spending money? Business on the upswing? Whatever, this was pretty cool. I UV'd it.

    Now, let's not forget, at the end you had written. "Hope I am wrong." See...., you got your wish.

    Also, you spoke well of the defensive plan - good call. And you called our score pretty close. Wasn't all wrong, was it?

    I thought he was saying "Martinez sucked it up," and not in a good way. Mostly because of the "but" in the middle of the sentence say the offense did "enough." I guess I could be wrong.
