I see have a locked thread... kinda shocked to see it honestly, but here is what I was happy with.
1. There was a lock due to possible/plausable attacks
2. A reason was stated why it was locked
3. Invited the topic to start over without a lock with a edited post.
Well done gents... just don't get lock happy kapeesh?

If a thread is locked, we'll explain why. As we've said in several posts, we're trying to build a community where people can disagree respectfully and people aren't afraid to post. If we lock a thread, we'll explain why.
In the nine months since this site started, I can recall maybe five threads we've had to lock. Everybody here is good about being respectful and focusing on the topic not the person. Love what we've got going here.

I'm not sure how the editors feel, but here's my two cents:
1) Attacking ideas and attacking posters are two different things. I have no problem with the former, I have every problem with the latter.
2) I don't have an issue with discussing players and their abilities and inabilities. Just remember to respect them as a person--it's easy to say things from behind a screen, but there's no need to hurl insults at a student-athlete.
3) Rumors are okay to discuss to a point, if it's a legal situation, it's probably best left not talking about until something becomes official. However, if someone may or may not leave the team, it's always interesting to figure out who's going to step up or an open scholarship.
4) You can cuss, I can cuss. It's not that special, just don't do it.
5) Remember, we're all for the same team.
