Mine and Schaefer's New Bet...

  • The first bet if you guys caught the conversation in the Southeast Article Comments was Kansas State vs Arkansas...
When the bet was made I even felt bad and offered a 10 point spread for Arkansas and he refused... insisting that his Purple Kitties would become victorious... well Arkansas won 29-16

We decided to make a new bet:

Will Rex Burkhead be drafted. I said yes. Schaefer says he will be picked up in Free Agency or after the initial 7 rounds... I have until week 6 to call off this bet just in case of Injury basically.

What is everyone's thoughts on the new bet?

    Will Rex get drafted?

He is gonna be a jacob hester type nfl player. 5th or 6th round right now. Can jump up

  • I think he will be drafted, but I think the position he plays and the color of his skin will hurt him. I see an NFL team trying to turn him into a fullback.

I said with a year roughly equivalent to last year he could be as high as 4th round... with a year slightly less but still no injury anywhere from 5-6th round...

I do strongly believe some team will take a chance on him tho... absolutely

Danny Woodhead is much more explosive and agile... but Burkhead is an amazing workhorse and definitely shifty...

Also Danny Woodhead is fast as censored

played soccer against him in high school... he was one strong SOB as well... his legs were as big as my entire body haha

  • I hope Rex becomes a teacher, leads a quite life raising boys and sending them to DONU. The way Rex plays, I don't think he could stand the beating by the NFL Monsters. He's one that this generation will remember like we do Turner.

  • Rex would bring a lot as far as pr. A team will take him and he will excell. Bank it!

  • Rex Burkhead is very much a Matt Forte type runner and should be drafted. Not second round...but he should get drafted.

Dude! Rex took more of a beating than almost any other RB in the B1G. Danny Woodhead is much smaller but of the same ilk as Rex. Rex is going to play a lot in the NFL.

  • For comparison sake (and to play devil's advocate) Chris Polk of Washington wasn't drafted last year.

The NFL is using less backs. I can't see Rex carving out a role on special teams. It'll be close.\

EDIT: I shouldn't say using less backs as more teams use two more now than ever. There's less dedication to the run game and less carries.

Zonie, as discussed earlier, Rex is a hammer, Danny more slasher. And those woiuldn't be college kids delivering blows to Rex. I would watch him on Sunday's and be happy, too. He's a top three round pick (there I said it)

  • Wouldn't be surprised at all to see him in a Patriots jersey next year. A team that passes a lot is going to want a guy like Rex picking up blitzes and being in the right spots

  • That's what I'm saying along with being a face of the program with his work with the general public? Rex will sell the team. With people like 85, Rex is a producer with a breath of fresh air that will never cause a problem. I see a healty career in his future

  • A link to a site I enjoy, Walterfootball.com

Good job on a multitude of sports, reality and fantasy.

Below is a link that breaks down Rex as an NFL prospect and for the most part gets it right.
