Message board post level categories

  • Just because you can put out the drivel doesn't mean you should get rewarded. Quality of the post should mean something IMO. I like posts where guys have attended practice and have some tidbits about some of the players and their performance. Posts from football coaches with knowledge about schemes to slow down dual threat QB's etc.

    Doesn't mean people can't discuss and share their opinions with each other. If those were the only ones to post here, this place wouldn't have a pulse.

    Post count is just something fun for the board community.

    Somewhat echoing gg...I'm not so sure the # of posts indicates the contribution-level of a poster. Just sheer # of posts is a draw for a minority of posters to pimp themselves by a lot of pointless posts.

    I'd rather see a differnet matrix. One where the quality of the contibution(s) is tallied rather than the # of posts. That would lead to a lot more critical thinking and input, which is what I believe the goal of a good forum should be.

    We have the ability to customize the names or categories that people fall into when they reach a certain number of posts on the board. Our names used to be all tied in to the levels on the 247Sports boards, but we can create our own categories.

    Here is the 247Sports model:

    1 - Participant 50 - Freshman 500 - Jr. Varsity 1000 - Varsity 1750 - Letterman 2500 - Walk-on 3250 - Redshirt 4000 - Back-up 5000 - Starter 10000 - All-Conference 15000 - All-American 20000 - Heisman

    I am open for suggestions for category names. Let's think about this and chime in for the next few days/week and then I'll go ahead and set the new levels.

    the only thing i could say maybe change is the last two levels Devaney, Osborne, and perhaps even blackshirts the gaps could be larger just to keep less people from reaching that level maybe? otherwise looks good to me either way

    the only reason i say this is judging by your stats almost 13,000 posts in less than a year... you should have to be atleast a member for a few years before Tom Osborne status IMO... haha
