  • Yep Urban is an obvious cheat. No respect. At least attempt to hide it. SEC is at least good at cheating.

  • Interesting, second complaint I heard of in the Big; Brent B of WI also complained about recruiting tactics; will be interesting to see if this continues, if the conference steps in--in the Big 12; we had a weak conference pres-Beebe, Delaney is quite a bit stronger; should be interesting to see if this continues in the future

I don't think the recruiting is a big deal. But if he is changing game film that is pretty bad and needs to be changed. I think you would have to admit that Bucky

I know about as much as you do on that but it said that both msu and osu ad's took care of it and that deleny would not be involved.....

  • Meyer=Scumbag... over/under on how long it will take him to have a "health-related" retirement again... 3 years. (especially if the go 8-4 or 7-5 a couple times.

Don't know anything, at all, about Meyer as a person. But the media presentation of his family looks like people I could admire. Media presentation, right?

I do hold the strong opinion that UM is the best in-game commentator and the best post game analyst I can think of. Others (Gruden, for example) are very good but Meyer works best for me. If he were to return to TV that would be great.

    Also, it's not his 8-4 or 7-5 seasons that's on my mind - it's 12-1 & 13-0 seasons that worry me.

  • Mich St complained that the game film was edited to not show "all of our pre snap motion" (which if you watch, it's literally the RB moving from behind the QB to one side) and was edited to not allow the "snap count" to be revealed.....UUUHHHH....our snap count is the QB slapping his hands....no cadence, no "Hut Hut".....actually makes the MSU coaches look a bit dumb....

But, when they complained last week, their AD called ours and it was resolved.....alot of good it did them...

Then after the game they complain about it through the media....even though it was resolved prior...

  • I am trying to figure out why you would need to rely on provided film anyway. I have a DVR at my house, every Ohio state game has been on tv and if I wanted to, I could have recorded every game they have played so far and watched it over and over and over... So I guess I don't understand the point of having to provide tape in the first place or Why it would leave you at such a competitive disadvantage that you have to file a complaint. It's football, do your own scouting and research. What's next, forcing teams to turn over a book about how to stop you....? Jesus, the coaches are getting paid multiple millions of dollars to coach and they need tape provided to them? Sheesh...

  • And where was the promised copy of the playbook, along with the video tape? And the audio recording of the coaches meeting? How in the world am I supposed to prepare a team to play without all this stuff? - Mark Dantonio

  • Well the young man did tell the Ohio coaches that if Nebraska offered he would be a Husker. I don't know about the unwritten recruiting rules that someone Big 10 coaches are talking about. But I would guess that other teams will still recruit a player that has committed verbally to a school if there is a hint the player is not sure of his verbal commitment.

We had two players I know of that were verbally committed to other school at the game this weekend. As for Urban he broke an unwritten rule. Which means he didn't break one. The way I look at it; coaches are paid a lot of cash. You best get the players to win. But stay within the rules. Unwritten rules or code are hard to follow.

First off, I'm not over here to flame as I think both Urban Meyer and Mark Dantonio both are scum, but it's pretty obvious from this post that you in particular don't have even the slightest idea of how coaches break down film.

Coaches don't watch the same thing we watch on tv, they need to be able to see every player on the field so they can break down what each player individually is doing and to see if they can do something to limit the effectiveness of whatever the offense is trying to do. So go ahead and DVR all the games you want, it's not going to help you or anyone else understand better what the team you're scouting is doing.

I'm not sure many schools do "their own" scouting, but I do know in the B1G it's a matter of common courtesy and respect for schools to provide tape of previous games. It's obviously not a rule, but giving another school a modified tape that doesn't let you see everything is pretty pathetic for coaches to do. A little FYI as well, this is college where the number of coaches and personnel are limited by the NCAA, if it was the NFL where a team can have as many people on staff as they want then you might have a point, but not in this case.

  • Well it's obvious from your post that you take this stuff WAY too serious. Are you kidding me...? Obviously I know that if coaches are "breaking down film", they are looking for more than what "we" are watching on TV...

But, WAY TO GO... you set me straight didn't you. God, if it were not for you breaking me off with that awesome information, I would have thought that you could just watch TV and be a brilliant coach.

"I'm not sure many schools do "their own" scouting...." ... Are you kidding me?

Nothing from your post is "obvious," how am I supposed to know you're being sarcastic judging from 1 single post you made and that you're not just that dumb? Your over-the-top response when you could've just said it was sarcasm, or better yet said something about it being sarcasm in your op is just completely unnecessary.

Obviously you completely failed to understand this statement: "I'm not sure many schools do "their own" scouting...." if you're trying to act like I'm an idiot. It's very obviously in direct reference to physically sending people to some of their opponents games to tape them. Never the less though, bravo once again on going completely overboard yourself.

Don't worry though, I won't waste anymore time arguing with you anymore.
