So far, from a measurable standpoint, he's holding his own.

Looks like he was rated tied for second in athleticism.

A 34.9 inch vertical for a 220 pound H.S. football player is astounding.

I do think this kid is going to be special. He is going to have the leadership qualities of a Rex Burkhead. He makes, good, quick decisions on the field, has good passing skills, especially on the move and is exceptionally quick, "slippery" and powerful when he pulls the ball down and runs. I think the thing that surprised me the most was his quickness. He is not particularly fast, but he is very quick.

I know a lot of people like to compare him to Tebow for his running abilities, but I see him as a potential Kellen Moore. Has that winner's persona, is not lightening fast but can move the ball with his feet (Johnny's obviously better than Kellen here) May not always look pretty doing it, but just knows how to move the chains. Can make a big play when when he knows his team needs it.

And fortunately for us, he's a bigger, stronger version.

I hope he has a better arm than Kellen Moore.

Nothing new on JS. He needs to work on his footwork and some times his throws wobble. He has much upside or is a very intriguing prospect. I am excited to see how much he improves over his senior season.
