Serious? Really? If you have type 'O' blood you cannot consider being a vegan. Anemia will be the outcome.

What makes you say this? Anemia is from a lack of b vitamins. There are vitamins out there that are more than sufficient. Without getting to in depth vitamin b12 is the only vitamin or mineral that is hard to obtain with a vegan diet. All others are in the various fruits, vegetables, and legumes.

Vitamin b12 is actually from the soil, usually cows get it from eating grass, or other green leafy things that grow from soil. Now if a cow isn't eating the normal diet it should, which is very common, then meat eaters wouldn't get the "recommended" amount of b12 either.

Here's a tip. Don't do it. Workout and use the Paleo diet.

  • When I am not at work, I will come back to this thread and list why eating meat is essential to a human diet. I will tell you this though, anyone who says meat isn't needed is dead ass wrong. And there is no substitute that does what meat does for you. You can survive on other foods, but your body will not thrive. Or you become very sick later or early in life.

Wheat. This is a killer. Gluten. Avoid at all costs. Dairy, not needed and recommend not consuming. Eat a lot if greens. That is where you get your anti-oxidants. Fruit is good, but you get the same nutrients out of veggies minus the sugar. Refined sugar. DO NOT EAT. Beer. Bad for you.

Meat is no more essential that high fructose corn syrup.

But I am interested in what you have to say.

More than anemic. I watched my son, who was dedicated to becoming a vegan, slowly deteriorate until he had to start eating meat. He was highly educated and knowledgeable and could debate the finer points, as I am sure you do, but he was unable to maintain that diet as he is type O blood, no antigens equals must have meat, is basically what I got out of his whole ordeal. The is anecdotal. I'm not posting to debate you or the merits...just the facts about a young man that tried his hardest to be a vegan and realized his body would not allow him to do so.

    The 247 lb. Vegan - WSJ.com

NFL star Tony Gonzalez is out to answer a question: Can a football player live entirely on plants? The Kansas City Chiefs tight-end was afraid the protein-rich bounty of the football training table was going to kill him. So last year, he decided to try going vegan.

Hmmm.... Zonie, that is the first I have ever heard of this. I will definitely do some research on it. How recent was this and does he still want the vegan diet? Thank you for your reply.
