The Bone Yard

As I understand the Barry Sanders-Nebraska tale, the coaches knew he was a very good player--BUT--they had a problem that year because a schollie had already been given to Terry Rodgers (son of Johnny). Both guys were the same size and the coaches felt they couldn't take 2 undersized backs in the same year. I recall reading this in a World-Herald article.

Last year some time Steve Sipple had a cool article/interview with Jack Pierce, who was on TO's staff, and he shared the story about how Jamelle Holloway got away. it was pretty funny. Sad for us, but it was a good story.

I can't believe Freeman or Gabbert haven't been mentioned yet. If we're talking recently it's one of those two by a landslide. Imagine one of those two as our QB in the '09 Big 12 title game. We'd have beaten Texas going away.
