No reason to abandon ship already. He can still win the B1G championship and make a BCS game. No reason at all for everyone to want to hang the guy for a lost. Plus, jumping to conclusion like this isnt good for anyone and especially the team/the kids.
We sometimes forget the BIG picture when dealing with losing. NO one likes to lose especially ME, but Bo has done some very goodthings with the program and who would you pick to replace him? You cant fire if you dont have a hire.
Give the man a chance to pull up his big boy pants and prove to everyone that he's a very good coach! Stop crying after every set back and be a real Big Red fan and stand behind your team this season and see where it goes..

+1 for you sir. We fire Bo after most likely 5; 9 win seasons and this program will never recover. Patterson or Peterson would not come here with our lofty expectations, based on NC runs almost 20 years ago. We simply dont have the recruiting base. We need Tommy Armstrong to be the next Cam Newton, thats the only thing thats going to put this program over the top...elite QB play. We have some good athletes at the skill positions, and some up and coming defensive talent that we need to start playing NOW, but other then that it takes a special QB to make a special team. Hundley is just that for UCLA the will thrive as long as he stays healthy. Our LBs and ends this year are too slow to cover quick backs and TEs out of the backfield and they killed us those matchups. Corey Cooper did pretty well, we need better LBs and we have some good ones learning and growing its just going to take time. The senior class this year was a terrble terrible class for obvious reasons. I thought Kevin Williams did a pretty good job and was bigger then i expected, he will continue to grow and get better.
Now matter how good Taylor looks against mediocre defenses, when the pressures on he doesnt have what it takes to get the job done. Taylor is an average QB and we will continue to be average with him at QB. He doesnt have what it takes to get balls into tight coverage, our recievers have to be wide open for him to compete a pass, if they are slightly covered he panics, and he doesnt have the elusiveness to make something out of nothing.
We found out just how bad So Miss was and just how good UCLA was. Hopefully by the end of the year UCLA proves to be a very good team and this loss really changes some things on Defense, no more Whaley, lets get Santos and Anderson in and see what they got. I think we worked so hard on scheme that we dont work on the basic fundamentals of tackling. Alot of times it just takes one or two guys (Lavonte David) to really make the defense better.
Time to simplify the schemes and play some basic fundamental defensive principals. Get the young guys like Rose ,Afalava, Brown, Santos, and Anderson on the field, they certainly cant do as bad as we did Saturday. Our currently LBs are way to slow. We have to quit trying to stock pile talent, and get the kids on the field to learn from experience. By the time they learn the complicated schemes key guys like Gomes Hagg and David are gone and we dont have anyone with experience to take over. Im my opinion its part of the learning curve of a rookie head coach.

This is how far we come in Bo Pelini tenure. What a joke! I have lost all faith in Bo Pelini to get this program back to the elite! Talent and coaching is just not on par for what it should be in year 5! The excuses have run dry and I think it is time to look in a different direction! Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Fire Pelini? Good grief, no!
For that to happen, Pelini will have to have a losing season - no bowl game, and have lost the team. Not gonna happen. He will have to be found huddling in his office while the team crashes and burns.
(I'm laughing at how anyone thinks that will happen.)
Jumping on the "Coaching Carousel" would be disastrous. It would brand us permanently as unable to learn the lessons from our Bill Calhoun hire. We would be forever dismissed from consideration as a quality program.
How did you miss this ---> Bo Pelini is a very successful coach. Firing Bo would make us a bigger laughing-stock than Pederson's bungled firing of Solich and his worse bungling of that coaching search. TO is not about to do that.
You don't have to like the man but we should all concede that he is successful and respected in the coaching ranks. Besides, he ain't gonna get fired, so, good luck with that campaign.

the defense looked confused slow and out of shape. of course none of this could possibly be attributed to coaching. it's hard to recruit to Nebraska just ask the head coach, so please sit back and watch an inferior defense let a freshman qb and 3 freshman linemen man handle our defense while the head coach cashes a 3 million dollar pay check every year until his next raise. lighten up Nebraska fans. it's BOfine.

Some really great points made on this thread, I personally, am glad to see that we are not all asking for Bo's whistle just yet. I also understand those that feel angst toward the current staff, especially after such a heartbreaking loss, which is what every loss is when you are a Husker fan. Trust that it took me until today to even want to discuss Husker football, I was a bit "anger-drunk" post Rosepocalypse, F*** this, F*** that, F*** you, F*** the next person who texts me about this loss like I didn't watch the F***ing game! Again, I was "anger-drunk" so I may have asked for Bo's head Saturday night or cursed my parents parents for being born a Husker fan, but today is new day and the hangover is almost gone, almost.
I don't want Pelini fired. It is going to take some time and dedication to get the program back to greatness, so we need to give Bo some time. Haven't we learned our lesson to be patient with Tom Osborne, from Tom Osborne himself? If Tom believes Bo is the guy then who the hell are any of us to question, right? As others stated look how long it took Osborne to get it done, with the landscape today shouldn't we have a little more patience, especially with a first time coach? I surely don't want to become Notre Dame, and chase a golden gofer when we potentially have one in the lawn clawing his way up. We are Nebraska so let's stay classy and respect the process to become great as we expect players to do the same.
Plus we can't keep comparing other coaches to Bo, it isn't fair and basically any example could be picked apart. Saban did his first head coaching stint in the Big Ten, and resigned after 4 years of being anything but great, would anyone question his aptitude? Took Mack Brown eight seasons for a NC and he has an endless supply of top recruits. I would rather have a coach come here and put in his leg work, even suffer a bit, and then make it to the top, it shows resolve and dedication. A coach can leave us too, and I would rather not see what Bo could do if he was given the reigns to Georgia or Arkansas, would you? Don't kid yourself, Bo's phone would ring and could be ringing now...
