Interesting from the school that has had two major cheating scandals in the past.

Bwahaha! All this time i thought a communications degree was a general sciences degree. Seriously, nothing says "im looking to check the block" like 5 of those degrees. I know because im doing the same thing.

Apparently it's a way for undeclared majors to "explore" a variety of different courses and studies (You know, basically a General Studies major under a different name).

So a major for students without a major. I don't see the point.

Here's the deal...you don't have to be "rich" to experience a high quality of life. Actually the "journey" is the prize if you make it an adventure. If you spend most of your time making your goal to become rich, you may never have enough time to enjoy the journey.

I can't remember a host of crazy forays, and some I' cant post here--I'm too damn old now...j/k...still am ready to sub anytime Bo calls on me bashful...I digress, here's a few things that I've been able to "put in my adventure bucket" - point being, I've never have been rich; very happy, not rich.

When you graduate go travel parts of the world for a year. You may find yourself along the way.

Fly in to wilderness lakes to fish virgin waters in Northern Canada
Party in Rhodes, downtown Athens...Greece in its prime, islands best.
Scuba dive in gin clear water 200' deep off Cozumel.
Snorkel with Humpback Whale Mother and baby off the Big Island/Hawaii.
Make Key West like your backyard...play with the Offshore Power Boat Race crowd.
Cruise Tahitian Islands on a Ship that can power off the engines and sail.
Swim with dolphins off Kona, sharks off Bali.
Dive the 'North Wall' off the Cayman Islands that drops to 6,000'
Catch over 50 large mouth in a day, no one else on the water.
Ski the Black Diamond US Ski Team Training Run at Copper Mtn. with 2' of fresh powder
Party with Sammy Haggar at Cabo Wabo for his 55th Birthday
    Live in Cabo San Lucas.
Skiff the 2nd largest bay in the world with migrating herds of Grey Whales surrounding the boat.
Jump (parachute) twice, solo, over Roswell, NM (former) military airbase shown on UFO shows.
Race Open Wheel Limited Indy Racers.
Catch Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Dorado and Yellowfin Tuna - the same day.
New Zealand was best, Kowloon/Hong Kong next.
Live in Mexico and operate an Adventure business.

Adventure is the pathway to your explore your soul...

  • Family Resource Management?

This is seriusly a major nowadays? What do they teach? How to balance your checkbook? How not to spend more than you make? Planning past a single paycheck?

Maybe they should just rename it Common Sense.

Exploration is a two year program (First 2), in which the student gets to explore a variety of majors before declaring a major. Contrary to blues post it is the same as Undecided.

Does that include exploring an NFL career?

I would have no problem if some of the players majored in NFL; football is their chosen profession.

If they allow Creative Writing majors, and Acting majors, why not Athletics?

Well, the 1/2 of 1% of college athletes playing football that actually make it to the NFL, get their degree there. To the rest, it could pile up huge student loans and hold little career opportunity.

So it is a general studies major.

Any way you slice it, it's the same thing.
