Has a coach ever been fired after a 10 win season?

  • I am so tired of getting embarrassed in big games.

You better not watch the bowl game then. If we have to play any of the top four leftover SEC teams, it will be the B1G championship game all over again. Until change is made with Pelini, get use to this every year.

  • Everyone needs to settle back a little bit. It sucks to have these showings in big games, but it is still just one game. There are a lot of things that need to be worked on but this is still our team. Bo is not going to be fired nor should he. He won 10 games this year and that is not going to get him fired. At some point we all need to just take it for what it is. We lost a game. weather is was by 39 or weather it was by 3 we lost. This used to be a fan base of people who didn't lose their mind after a loss, but as I have seen this year we are turning into a fair weather fanbase. This is more sad to me than what I am seeing on the field. This board blew up after the UCLA game, the OSU game, and now this one. It makes Husker fans look really bad. You don't turn on your team at the drop of a hat like this.

What a fair weather fan. I didn't hear any of this the last 6 weeks, so now after 1 game he needs to be fired? Lot of people on this board are showing their true colors...not real Nebraska fans. This makes me sick.

Wrong. Sorry. Lando and I are rarely on the same page on this subject, but last night was the veil being torn back. There are major problems in North Stadium and to deny that is simply burying your head in the sand.

  • I'm about as sick and (honestly) depressed as any Husker fan out there. But I don't think we can fire Pelini.

I know a lot of people find this unpopular, but I don't believe anyone would want to coach here after we firing 2 coaches who won 75% of their games in the last decade.

We see the big losses.... A coaching prospect from the outside looking in sees a 10 win regular season, and the head guy got fired. Who in their right mind would want to walk into that? Guys are not going to salivate over taking a job where 9-10 win seasons aren't good enough. i also agree.... You can't always play the "you're fired!!!" Card when things turn south.

My glass is half full..... I'm a fan no matter what, even though last night was extremely tough. Gbr!!!

So do you think firing a coach that won 25% of their games would put us in a better position? Think about what you are saying here.

Uh, yes. I'm going to stick by guns.

If I was a prime coaching candidate I would rather go to a big time program that is down on it's luck v. a big time program that will fire you after winning 75% of your games.

Again, it's not that black and white and any AD worth his salt should be able to sell that. Look at who those wins are against. Who have we beaten in the last 5 years that was a great to good team?

  • Whether you love him or hate him, Bo's not going to get fired after a 10 win season. There's really no feasible set of circumstances that would allow it to happen, no matter how hard you try to conjure them up.

The deficiencies are obvious and seeing meltdowns in year #5 is by itself unacceptable, but it's going to take a .500 or losing season for Bo to get his walking papers.
