Looks like the D is going to be about at last year's level.

Without Lavonte and with Anderson apparently not a world-beater, the LB corps is definitely going to be weaker. Average by B1G standards.

It looks like Seisay did not step up, either, so I see the DB's slightly better than at the end of last season because they are more experienced - respectable but not in the top tier in the B1G.

Good to hear that Valentine is making a push at DT. I think that position group is average at best, about like the LB group, but that would be an improvement from last season.

I like the O this season, but it is going to have to carry the team if we are going to make any noise. The D looks average to me unless Bo can somehow make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

That tells me how BAD this line could me. If it turns out this bad Even Bo will have to realize a change is needed. Won't happen but hoping somehow the line can come together. You are right. You have to start with a good Oline. I have seen Iowa have a respectable running game with very mediocre running backs just due to the Oline and Kirk's development of the Oline.
