The debate doesn't have to be nasty, really. But there's two levels at work here:
One: Nebraska needs to throw the better, right now, in 2012, and there may not be a guy on the roster who can (or the starter may not be that person).
Two: Nebraska is running the wrong offense, and it needs to move toward one that can attract a Luck type.
To the first, I mean, you work with what you have. Was it Beck's call to recruit any quarterback before 2011? No. Let's not kid ourselves. He didn't recruit Kody Spano or Cody Green (although he might have). He didn't waste half a year on shorter Gabbert. He didn't pressure Spano to return too fast. He didn't make the call for Taylor Martinez to start in 2010, setting in motion what you currently have. Clearly, Martinez has to get better. This spring. This summer. Next fall. It has to be continuous and ongoing. Will it happen? Up to him and Beck.
To the second, it's a valid argument. My meager mind likes those offenses, too. But I also like what Baylor did with RGIII, the only QB I've seen in the last four years and said "Instant star" the first time I saw him. And Baylor was not running Wisconsin's offense. I like what Oregon does - and Oregon doesn't run Wisconsin's offense. Bo had his chance to buy Oregon's offense, essentially, by hiring Scott Frost as his OC. I lobbied at the time for him to do it. Still think it would have been a great idea, too. Bo went his own way, hired Beck and here we are. Beck's off to a pretty good start in some ways. Year 2 will be tougher.
How about Bo not showing interest in Wilson when Wilson was interested in us? Shocking we didn't listen....

Braydon Scott...Does he have an Alabama offer? His Bio says he does. Also I read what the OU site had to say about him and they are high on him too, but no offer, wonder why?
