  • Finally watching this. Johnny is one solid boy, especially compared to the guys around him. Doesn't really have that nice tight spiral, but like Dilfer said, the ball always ends up where it should.

P.S. Love the NFL early comment.

  • I tell you what, of all the kids on the show Stanton impressed me the most with his attitude and his humility. Make no mistake Stanton's a leader but he's not arrogant... the same cannot be said for Shane Morris. Did anyone else snicker at his "I should have been #1 comment?" I have a bad feeling about him, he already thinks things should just be given to him.

Ya I laughed. Also isn't he the one that made the mistake of running in front of the seal. Simple directions lol

    Definitely disagree (of course).

Shane has constantly been humble about his performances during each of his competitions (and he has done a lot). Whenever he gets criticism, he has always taken it in stride and used it to better his game. I could definitely see how he would be disappointed in the rankings though, since he was constantly one of the top performers on the actual field according to many people.

There is a reason why he has been such a great recruiter for us, it's because he is passionate about football, and has a great leader personality. If he had such a big ego, you would have to assume it would put off a lot of recruits he helped recruit.

Not necessarily. Many players have large egos...

Also, the reason he wasn't rated from all I've read about the camp is his lack of following directions. Maybe I am mistaken (pretty sure I am not) but he is the one that decided to get cocky and run ahead of the seal on their jog and got a new hole ripped into his @$$... and that lack of following instructions carried over into practice. I wish i remembered where I read this bc I'd just post it.

But with that said he is an outstanding QB and Athlete. and I still believe you have a good one. The coaches were just turned off by all mentioned above.

I just spent a few minutes looking for it. Can't find it. I do know that the mention of him not following directions on the jog and deciding to pass the Seal Instructor was on a tweet. I do remember that. I dont remember who tho. Sorry i was not more help shrug

But like i said many people think he was one of the most talented guys there (physically)...

Yea, I couldn't find it either, but even if that is true. How does that take away from what is truly important, which is on the field performance?

Just doesn't make much sense to me, that is like saying you would rather take a person who always plays it safe just because he "listens good" (i.e. Trent Dilfer) rather than a player who proves it on the field and is willing to take risks(i.e Tom Brady).

Ya that's the negative of camps like this. It's biased and 100% based on what those coaches see in a short 5 days... For instance they picke Riley Fergusen just bc he showed heart with his injured thumb. Clearly e didn't throw the best. But they also took into account coachability, classroom stuff, and wOrkouts... Not just throwing

  • I found what you were talking about, it wasn't Shane Morris that you were thinking of, it was David Webb.

    Yea, it was definitely biased.

Only reason why the Maryland commit was in the Elite 11 was because it would have made Trent Dilfer look foolish because he made a special offer to him to make the Finals since he didn't win any of the Elite 11 competitions.

    Link?

All I could find is a free Rivals article lol

    Here is the snippet:

"All the quarterbacks had to run behind a Navy SEAL in the sand, six feet behind, and never get closer. For some unknown reason, Webb tested that order and ran in front of the Navy SEAL when he inexplicably stopped in the sand. The Prosper, Texas, quarterback quickly learned not to disobey an order.

"Let's just say I got yelled at," Webb said."

Won't link for obvious reasons though.
