I doubt he'll fall this far, but does anyone else see Mike Shanahan's love affair with the Huskers continuing and using their 3rd round pick on Lavonte? Especially since they are a team that can tell you first hand how well an "undersized" linebacker can perform in the NFL. Lavonte David plays similarly to London Fletcher IMO... both have an absolute nose for the ball and motors that don't quit. Like I said, I don't think there is any chance he makes it out of the first two (or one) rounds undrafted, but just throwing this out there.
GBR!

I know the Packers sorta of fit into the area where people are saying his talent level puts him but i'm not to sure he fits the 3-4 scheme. One the biggest requirements in that scheme is to be strong enough to sched any block...Lavonte isn't really that. He's a weak side roamer.

I believe the core of the 3-4 defense is based around plugging in freaks of nature like demarcus ware. Kampan isn't a freak. He's a technically sound professional. My dad is a HUGE packers fan growing up in Wisconsin so I am well in touch with the franchise. They need to take a risk and go after a freak. They aren't in the position to draft one at the top of the draft. To find "that guy" they may need to take a risk on a guy with some issues. Someone like Couples(although he probably won't make it that long) but i think you understand. It requires extrodinary athletes to make that defense work.
