  • Ill admit I'm not a Creighton fan and didn't follow your season much and i don't want this to turn into a UNL vs Creighton thread

But I'm just curious what are your overall thoughts on your season this year I know you had high expectations coming in.

And are you excited about probably moving to the new Big East?

Won't lie it would be cool potentially having Georgetown or Marquette playing one school from the state and a Ohio St or Michigan St playing another on the same night

  • I'm not a fan for a smattering of reasons, but I do wish them the best and think the new conference will be good for all. Creighton's success can help bring positive awareness to Omaha and the state of Nebraska. Interestingly, it could one day be possible to have three NE schools in the Big Dance with UNO playing Div1 BB too.

As far as CU's season has gone so far, I was surprised they took some tumbles 3/4s through the season. There were some games they clearly should've won in there, but they closed things out in fine fashion.

  • I hate Creighton with all of my being, but I can't help but respect the hell out of Dougie. Dude needs to learn to play better defense and he could be a pretty decent NBA talent

    IDWIW

  • Ya, if he had a lick of defensive talent he'd be a great player. He probably won't be much of a player in the league without it though. Teams will pick him apart. If he's lucky he could land with a team like GS or LA that doesn't play defense. In that scenario he could be a solid stretch 4.

  • Having a team like Georgetown definitely brings a bit more excitement than say, Drake. I'm all for it for basketball in the state.

If Korver can Make it work...I think McDermott is a serviceable rotation guy.

If Brian "White Mamba" Scalibriene can be a career NBA guy I'm sure McDermott can. He'll probably be a late first round pick so he'll probably land with a good team also

Losing Doug,Gregory and Gibbs is killer especially if they go to the Catholic 7

Korver is also one of the greatest sharp shooters in basketball history

But yes he is a pretty bad defender. Thibadeau improved him last year with the bulls. Not sure if he has continued on that path or not.

Scal was a good defender and one of the smartest basketball players I've ever seen. Also, he wen over to Europe and balled out.

He could have easily went into coaching. He now works in Boston and i expect he wil work his way up the analyst ranks, easily one of the coolest and most knowedgable athletes you could ever meet. Class act.

Time will tell, there are lots of good players whos game just didnt fit in the NBA.

  • This is a Husker board not a Creighton board!!!! rabble rabble rabble rabble.

A move to the big east would be awesome, though. Im not a Creighton fan by any means, but going to their games and seeing them play teams like Georgetown, Marquette, Butler, etc. would be far more appealing than the MVC teams.
