Cowherd or Jim Rome? who do you prefer?

  • I know a lot of people dislike Cowherd, but I enjoy what he brings.

I can't stand Rome, its probably his voice and how he talks.

  • Cowherd is okay but his analogies or comparisons are far too often wrong or misguided. Jim Rome isn't much better -- both take a position to get a reaction, not because it is correct. Both are far better than Skip Bayless.

  • I'm a big Dan Patrick guy. Love the Danettes.

  • Skip Bayless is the worlds biggest troll...hilarious he is.

  • Neither.

Give me Scott Van Pelt. Tim Brando is better as well.

  • I prefer Dan myself, Scott Van Pelt is pretty good also. But of the 2 choices I would take Jim, lesser of 2 evils. He seems to have calmed down just a little bit over how he use to be.

  • Would respect Romey a little more if dude. wrote. his. own. takes.

I don't mind Cowheard.... he speaks his mind and has a lot of original takes... he's often wrong (i.e the year Duke won the NCAA Tourney he kept saying they would never win another championship). However, I used to listen to the Jim Rome show... but the level moronic behavior on that show is ridiculous... also Rome... stop talking like you are 17 years old, you aren't as hip as you think you are...

The real reason I hate the Jim Rome show is because of the listening base (at least that calls in) the come in with these "strong" takes that often make little to no sense and try to bash on each other like they matter. They are the reasons I stopped listening to that show.

I'm more of a local radio guy anyway... I can't do Schick and Nick because Schick is just too whiny about everything and Nick Bahe rarely makes sense. But I do like USC.

  • I prefer Cowherd. Although Rome isn't near as annoying as he was 10 years ago, but I still never listen to him.

  • I like them both, but I get tired of them at times for the very reason that have been stated here.

I can't listen to Cowherd when he gets on his arrogant, high-and-mighty rants. The same goes for Dan Patrick. The egos with these two can be unbearable to listen to at times. However, I like the visual with the Dan Patrick Show and the Danettes.

I listen to sports radio all day so everyone is just a click of the dial away when someone irritates me.

Both annoying as hell. Both extremely opinionated. I can't listen to Rome any more, and I used to like him a lot. I think it's his clones that put me off the most.

Cowherd is amusing to me because he is wrong far more than he is right about anything.

You don't get to the top in any profession without a substantial ego.

I like DP, because of the Danettes as much as anything else. And he's incredibly entertaining.

Completely agree with the ego thing. They are very successful and deserve to think they are great.

I just don't like to hear it, so I just change the channel when they get to preaching. I like them for the most part though.

  • Cowherd causes me physical agony. How he become successful when his schitck is being uninformed is puzzling.

I listen to Rome just because it is on 1620 between two better local shows.

  • I also enjoy Dan Patrick for how unabashedly ant-ESPN he is, for obvious reasons.

I don't care either way about ESPN, but I can't stand when he goes on his ESPN rants. He needs to get over it already. He comes off as bitter to me.

You got a good gig dude, drop it, it's tired and no one cares. You both made each other better.

    602Husker

  • They both suck....I just want to punch both of them for being asses. I end up listening to pod casts of of other guys that don't do regular radio everyday (Mandel, Masiel, ect.). Local Tallahassee or Nebraska stuff, possible bill king.

  • Rome and his "clones" talk is stupid. Personally I agree with a lot of what Cowherd says. He is wrong a lot on sports, but he isnt afraid to be passionate about his interests and he does a good job of mixing in non sports topics to change it up. Rome should have been pulled years ago
