I honestly don't know all the details about what goes on with the rules and stuff, but can the be one early signing day (say Dec. 15th) and the normal one?

I would say yes and no. Positives and negatives. a positive would be we would sign guys like mcwilson and not lose guys late. but then you also may miss on guys like Mixon because he may have already signed. Im guessing coaches would be for it that way they would know what they have signed and have enough time to fill what needs weren't filled in the first signing period

I'm not sure there's much interest in one. Per Nyatawa's article today, coaches would prefer NSD to be a month or two later.
Theoretically, the idea of having one day where kids can sign LOIs, then a dead period for a few months, then an open signing period seems a little strange -- if it's ok to sign on December 15th, why not December 16th or 17th, or sometime in January?
Personally, I'm in favor of giving kids more time to decide; I don't see how locking them into their verbals earlier is to their benefit. The only way I can see it working is if the early signing period is for EE kids only (not just JUCO).
