Aside from Jack Hoffman, who was your MVP?
Zimmerer and I was pleased with Bondi's performance considering the wind.
Tongue in cheek answer, whoever was long-snapping for us did just fine, bridging the gap between Mangieri and Miller...I assume Miller is not an early enrollee.
Serious answer, RKIII. Smart, calm, productive performance.
Correct, though Miller was noticeably more jacked yesterday on the sidelines. He's definitely been getting in the weight program already.
Jake long for me
2. Jake Long
4. Alonzo Moore
You can make a pretty darn good case for any of those guys, but that's my order.
A boy, a Twitter page, and the aspiration that you follow him. It's what this country was founded upon.
I liked those four a lot and King Frazier too.
Nebraska Old Gold Knights
And it's not even close in my opinion.
I think Kellogg had the best game, but I don't think it means a whole lot but good for him.
The most exciting new player is Alonzo Moore. I know some of the guys on this site had been hinting that he was something special, but I did not realize he had that kind of athleticism.
I still like Westerkamp a lot, but he did not surprise me. I think that he is going to be that guy that keeps the offense moving on crucial third down plays. He will catch anything that is anywhere near him.
I also thought Zimmerer played well. I have always liked him, but I thought he played exceptionally well.
Sorry if I am misinterpreting your take on Westerkamp, but this sounds like other opinions in that he is not projecting to be a major threat and playmaker at WR.
I can also just be too high on the guy also.
I don't know, but I can see him being the most prolific pass catcher at NU when he is done. I understand he doesn't have sprinter speed, but he has moves and good enough speed.
Well, I don't think he has the speed of Turner or Bell, but he has great hands, excellent leaping ability and is slippery and hard to tackle. I don't know if we have had anyone quite like him before. He reminds me a little of Guy Ingles in his ability to go up and get the ball and a little of Matt Davison in his determination and route running and both of those guys had great hands, but he is stronger than either of those guys after the catch. I don't see him breaking off a lot of big plays, but I could see him catching a lot of those critical "third and eight" passes to keep drives alive.
Even if Westerkamp lacks the deep speed, you can never underestimate the impact of a reliable pass catcher. I have not seen him in practice and don't know enough about him, but I'm guessing he's finding a way to get separation in the short to mid-range and could be an impact guy.
Someone like this will do wonders for our offense and Martinez's confidence.
