Goodnight gents. Brother in law recommended Matilda? Goose island beer? Got to try it.
Quality vs Quantity? Been torn between two for a long time.
depends on the environment and the situation. If i am home after a day of work and don't want to do anything i prefer to sit back and relax with a great IPA or other Premium Beer. If I am going out with a bunch of friends, tailgating, or partying I prefer light beers which is where the quantity comes into play
Odell makes an awesome beer called Weiss Versa that uses a kind of yeast that really brings out clove and banana flavors. There is no better taste in a beer than clove and banana. Creates a nice buttery taste, with the sweetness of the banana and the bite of the clove.
Definitely picking up a growler or two of that the next time I'm in the Fort Collins area.
Matilda is a great brew. Goose island is the best mainstream brewery in the city of Chicago. You might know them from 312...

How's the west coast ipa? I picked one up in a make your own six pack but haven't been able to try it yet
Nice bump Tim! The West Coast IPA was right up there in taste with some of my favorites. Would buy it again. As far as a rating, 5 chugs. Loved every single part of it. The various hops from cascade, to simcoe, to Columbus, make this one of my favorites. Highly recommend that you IPA drinkers give this a shot. It will not let you down.
Now that's the review I was looking for! Can't wait to try it!

Trying two new beers tonight. Review and a story coming...
Myrcenary: O'Dell Brewing Co.
From bottle: Named for Myrcene, a compoment of essential oils in the hop flower, Myrcenary Double IPA is our tribute to those who revere the illustrious hop, and their unyielding exploit to craft hop forward beers. Brewed with a blend of hops containing the highest levels of Myrcene, this double IPA prevails with a tropical fruit-like flavor, a pungent floral aroma, and a clean getaway.
This beer is delicious. this may have just put itself in the top 5. As for the description, the hops taste is strong and you get that clear pine type taste. and i agree that you get a strong floral taste in it. its funny because what it immediately reminded me of was when i was a sophomore in college my roommate and i had a hookah. and this one flavor we got one time was Rose flavor and there was a similar taste in this beer. with a very crisp finish. sometimes IPAs hang around awhile for a bitter unpleasant taste. none of that here... highly recommended.
Crow Peak: Canyon Cream Ale (the girlfriend picked this one out)
Remember me mentioning the one guy at Beertopia that pointed me int he wrong direction with Celebration and Simcoe IPA. well this guy decided to talk my gf into buying this beer... it is absolutely terrible. it tastes like watered down cream soda mixed with bud light... best description i could come up with. ZERO chugs.
You need to get this guy fired or transferred or something hahaha
It really does piss me off actually.
You didn't like celebration??
Not really. it wasn't bad just didn't impress me... I was more referring to the Simcoe. Simcoe is horrible.
Fair enough. As far as celebration, that's kind of how I feel about all Sierra Nevadas. Pretty good go to but they don't really blow me away.
Torpedo disagrees with this statement.
Try Hoptimum if you haven't. The only beer from Sierra Nevada I like

I haven't seen it yet but if I do I'll definitely give it a try.
Yes you will and you will love it.
That was one of the first IPAs I had and I've only had it once. Guess I better give it another shot!
