Do you think we have recruited the caliber of players it takes to be where we want to be? I think when you combine this and the last class a corner is being turned. I believe Bo is a great coach. Not a great recruiter and things are on the uptick.
Recruiting arrow is point up. Not at every position but i think its obvious at a few positions. LB / WR / RB are where we want. I think safety is on its way as well. The biggest thing we are still looking for in improvement on the line of scrimmage. We'll see on that in a month or two. TE is improving as well. We are certainly recruit the right kind of athlete in most cases. Now its a matter of getting them to commit.
Teein' Off on Links
I think they are doing Ok but I'd like to see them do better. Maybe a few less choirboys and a few more football players.
Bo has not historically recruited well or well enough to get us to the next level. That is why the further we get away from callahans recruits the not as great we become.
I say I don't see any change when I look at last year. This year I saw more effort early but the same old not great results durin the season and it feels like we may start a late season scramble like we have the past few years too.
If we finish strong then I will be hopeful and see some progress. If not then no.
cool picture from space
Trying to resist the urge to ask which future husker is choirboy? Guess i did anyways.
Choir Boys Oh this should be good...
I think it takes some time to get it figured out. I would question anyone who thinks Bo is a bad coach. I think recruiting is improving. The effort was not early. Did you watch the games? The B1G isn't as bad as we made ourselves out to be.
Two of the key issues are in these threads imo.
Interesting article on B1G assistant coaching spending vs. the rest of the NCAA. Looks like we should be spending another $400k-$500k compar

It's good to be the King.
Feed me to the wolves, and I will return leader of the pack. #FreeDA
No. Maybe we build off last years class. This year will be good if we finish.
But no. No depth (or front line staters talent wise)on the Oline. DL has been weak. I do like last years recruits on the DL, but we shall see how they turn out.
QB recruiting has been bad, until Stanton, oh and Armstrong, so good since last year. If Stanton does indeed come to campus (have no reason to believe he won't, but until that signature is on paper, seen it before).
I will say the awareness that is must be a priority has improved, still not quite where I would like to see it.
But, lets just go off the players we have on roster. It's a fairly easy no for me right now.
Oath Before Orders
I'm not saying QB recruiting has been bad. Stanton, Armstrong, Turner, Starling, Carnes, and Green is nothing to shake your head at. It 's just been really confusing and weird that we only have 2 scholly QB's this year with one in the hole.
I don't find it that confusing. NFL teams with all of their money cannot diagnose a great QB. Argue with me if you want but Joe Ganz may be the best QB we have fielded.
I did watch the games. The big was worse this year compared to last.
Put it this way. We won 7 conference games and probably non of those wins will be vs a ranked team after the bowls.
The big was ok but not great.
We had good skill players but our line recruiting has been very bad under Bo for the most part. It is cool about the walk ons but that means you are not recruiting well for the most part. We do not have a dominate o or d line. Yes we rushed for a lot of yards but again the defenses weren't great and most of that was cuz our Rbs are good and to the outside.
We just can't keep missing on so many better prospects if we want to take this to the next level.
I see what you're saying, but that wasn't where I was getting at. Starling is playing baseball. Carnes and Turner are WR's. Green is at Tulsa. Our current QB was an athlete coming out of high school. Probably not what most were expecting when we signed most of these kids.
Yeah now that you mentioned all those names, our QB recruiting has actually been fairly decent. Starling, wasn't anyone's fault but the Royals. Turner, man I would have loved to see what he could do at QB, but will be a NFL WR/return man. Green, well ill leave that alone, Carnes is a mystery to me, ok maybe not NEVER GOT A CHANCE even in practice, I don't expect much of Armstrong because of Stanton, we shall see, hopefully it's handled better than when TM was anointed.
But when they were all recruits, they were all solid. Funny our lowest was TM.
Actually our qb and rb has been pretty good. Also we seem to have identified some pretty good wr considering we aren't known for throwing it. I am trying to be more positive. We just need this type of talent on the lines. I do like our lb recruiting these past two years as well now that i think about it.
I look at the incoming talent and cannot help but feel this team is going up. No excuses as far as Bo goes the next few years.
Look at the number of jucos we are after at must get positions. Pretty sad.
Next season depends on it
Even sadder if we don't get any...
It's basically just DE and DT. Nothing on the extreme side. It happens from time to time. Every teams has those points.
So d line. Tight end. Can make an easy case for o line. Safety and even lb.
but just go with the lines and tight end. That is the meat an potatoes of a team. The guys in the trenches. And it isn't a case where we could use some jucos it is we need some pretty bad. If we miss you are looking at significant holes. That is poor recruiting and planning on the staff plain and simple.
