Feed me to the wolves, and I will return leader of the pack. #FreeDA
And the d*ckbags that are on strike will all be jobless tomorrow. Well done, losers! Enjoy the unemployment line!
Ha! That crossed my mind also. I just want to be like "So, how did that work out for you guys?"
And....watch we got to pay there welfare checks........
As shortages go, it pales in comparison to the gasoline woes the Northeast suffered after Hurricane Sandy.Nonetheless, panic-buying...
Guessing they sold a lot of Twinkies today, though.
Not for the 18,000 unemployed ...seemingly, they got their just dessert. The rest of us get to pay 99 weeks of unemployment x 18,000 employees. That is a very bitter end for everyone.
...It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.

Still better than paying trillions in healthcare costs for the millions they poisoned. Now where Is my McRib........
You must be joking, or drinking heavily. Let's outlaw bacon, Coca Cola, Pepsi, all sugar-based food, Canola oil ...the list could be endless.
As long as alcohol isnt outlawed
Yea shame on them for not taking a pay cut the week after the CEO gave himself a 300% raise.
Well, that would pale in comparison to what the leadership of the Unions steal for themselves.
I did not mention outlawing anything. I think the market spoke for itself on this one and several failed attempts at restructuring management. Yes it is a sad day for American workers, carnival vendors, doomsday preppers and fat kids around the world.
Comparing the jobless folks to fat kids and carnival vendors around the world. I don't get it. How is a Twinkie or Wonder Bread any different than pies, cookies or candy? There were the unions, venture capitalists and mismanagement to blame. I see this as huge tragedy of errors that put over 18,000 workers into the unemployment line in a terrible economy. I just don't see any reason to be smug about this whole situation. Compassion for our fellow citizens would be more in order.
Long live the zebra cake!!

Okay Zonie, I can go along on any rant or rave, but if you ban my bacon......
Chaos wil reign!
Bacon, the ultimate condiment.
Hell bacon makes bacon taste better!
I'm with you, PP.
You really gotta love Unions.
yea, this didn't really work out for them
I'd take a cut as opposed to standing in the unemployment line. Especially as a relatively non skilled worker in a tough economy. But, that's just me I guess.
And how much do you think these "relatively non skilled workers" make? Let me assure it's not enough to take 3 pay cuts in a row. Unfortunately the majority of these " non skilled workers" are route sales representatives who work harder than most people I know starting at 3:00 AM for roughly 12-18 hours a day. And let me also add the reason they're represented by a union is due to these corporations wanting them to work 7 days/wk which would blend out their commission based pay to an hourly wage below the poverty level.
I will wait for those to respond who are willing to take 3 pay cuts in a row, and work 60+ hours/wk to work below the poverty level while upper management give themselves 300% raises.
If its that poor of a place to work and you think you are getting the shaft for the job you do, that's the great thing about this country, get a different job, end of story. And please don't make me laugh about union workers being forced to work 7 days a week. Every second after 5:00 is OT and anything on the weekend is double time.
Sorry, but I don't have a lot of sympathy for unions, especially when they strike like this. And, I'm a freaking democrat. Unions HAD their time and place.
Sorry Z, your outline of the job resposibilities of these route salesman shows your lack of knowledge of the situation.
They don't get paid hourly nor do they get overtime. An 8 hour day is not an option for them; please re-read my post.
These men and women gave a lot to a company who continued to promise a better life, while at the same time mismanaging two of the most iconic brands in the food industry.
My thoughts and prayers are with those 18,000 workers and their families during this holiday season.
