I am going to check out what OSU fans thought of that haha
I couldn't believe Gholston came back in. Guy was out cold, wobbly, and swatting at people. It was waaaay worse than Matt Schaub coming back in for the Texans last weekend.
IOWA - Idiots Out Walking Around
"I don't think Braxton plays soft, but I think he over reacts to minor pain. Last year against Nebraska comes to mind." -OSU fan
I'd agree with that assessment... screams: Wuss... to me.
"If that's not a torn ligament, there's no excuse for him just dropping the ball there. Still love the cat though, Go Bucks" - Another fan
Lol! He rolled his ankle. His game is dependent on healthy knees and ankles.
Edit: Braxton looks like a pretty boy though.

- comparing Braxton to Beanie Wells
"I remember, running up the middle against Ohio and he hurt his big toe and fumbled.
He's soft too as you can see with his nfl career."
looks like OSU is going to win this one... good. I want them to be 5-0 going into next week. Let's do this.... first though. Wisconsin.
Michigan St. didnt have a rushing first down. I think its safe to say that we will have multiple. Doesn't prove anything against either team. Just an observation...
#MSU coaches were not happy with #OSU tape exchange where shifts and motions on offense were edited out. #BIG10 office has been notified.
Weird. Who knew Urban was a scumbag... ?
I hate Urban... but Ohio St winning this game is a good thing for us. Mich St is in our division and probably are biggest competition to get to the BIG title game. Man I still hate Urban and OSU though.
Any game Michigan and MSU loses helps up from this point on.
Yea, I was happy to see Ohio State take it. Means they're ranked that much higher next weekend, and it's a Big Ten loss for Michigan State. Keep in mind, though, that -division- losses are more important.
It's an Urban Liar team, they'll probably have some guys in jail next week!
haha you guys are funny......as you watched the Braxton fumble you were SURE it was a blown knee because it looked so bad....then when he sucks it up and comes back in game he's now a puss......I guess only Cornhuskers are "tough" and "play through pain" I gotcha.....
Feel free to downvote me after reading this, I don't mind. Just want to point out some facts.
1. Braxton didn't just "drop" the ball. It is possible to hyper-extend your knee without doing any actual damage, as a person who's involved in athletics all the time (Crossfit 4-5x/week and basketball leagues 2-3 times per year) I can tell you that what happened to him on that play is scary and hurts like hell. If he was to hold onto the ball, he should be commended. So, everyone can stop calling out his man card for what happened. He's one of the best players in college football and, he's been carrying our team taking hit after hit throughout the first 5 weeks, and continues to get back up.
2. If you're questioning our D, then I'll point out that we held a top-10 RB to a sub-50 yard rushing performance. Ball (not even a top-25 RB this year) had 90 rushing yards and 3 TD's against your D, so you may want to focus more on your D than ours. Also, and I'll back this up by saying go watch the game film, Maxwell can throw. Can his receivers catch, not always, but that doesn't necessarily remove the threat. Our DB's stepped up in coverage, which allowed us to control the game defensively (aside from one major breakdown TD pass). You say we're fast but undisciplined, I say we'll see Saturday night.
3. Lay off of Urban. If the film issue was such a big deal, I'm sure Delaney would've been involved. The fact of the matter is, it was a minor issue that was resolved between AD's. I know it's fun to look for any little thing to expose and hate about a proven winner, but it's irrelevant. I would encourage you all to worry more about Pelini's impending Richter-scale head explosion one of these days.
All that being said, I won't talk down about Nebraska or issue any ill-will towards any part of the team. In fact, one of my better friends is a die-hard Nebraska fan. I hope for a good, clean game with no injuries and no controversy that I'll be watching live from the Block-O.
very well thought out and presented, no need for down votes. I would agree with most of what you said and the only thing I take a bit of issue with is that Miller didn't just "drop the ball." He did. I've hyper extended my knee before, painful as heck, but as the play maker of your team you HAVE to hold onto that ball till you hit the ground, no excuses. That being said, I wouldn't say he's less of a man, but he does need to step it up.
As for the other things, every fan base does this, we looks for holes in the opposing team's defense or offense. Ball rushed for 90 yards and 3 touchdowns yes (two TDs were because of a short field on fumble plays) but he only averaged 2.8 yards per play. And collectively we held them to 50 some yards rushing and 1.8 yards per carry. This will be an interesting game, if we can contain Miller (big if) I like our chances. Can't wait to watch the skers battle in the Shoe. Thanks for your post. You're welcome any time.
There's a little bit of conversation going on over on our board right now about the infamous Braxton "throw". If he does the same thing but the ball goes out of bounds, I think there's little to no conversation about it today. However, he did cough it up twice and the other time was just a bad read followed by a fumble. I understand your point and agree that as the playmaker of a team, those things cannot happen.
As far as containing Braxton... basically if anyone does, they have an excellent shot at beating us. Luckily, he's been the best player on the field - without question - the first 5 weeks. One thing is for sure, and this isn't me being a homer whatsoever: if we get our passing game going, watch out. Fortunately for everyone else, this is more or less Braxton's freshman year when it comes to anything aside from in-game experience and he's still a BIG work in progress when it comes to reading and understanding defenses.
All that being said, thank you for welcoming me to this board. Glad to see that no one here (yet, at least) has proven to be a closed-minded (see: Mi*higan board), downvoting and ranting homer. I'm looking forward to a good matchup this weekend.
Thanks for stopping by.
All fans look for holes in the opposing team's armor. That is the greatness of college football.
I think just about all Husker fans have great respect for Braxton. We just don't believe you can put >70% of the plays on one guys' back and have him stay healthy throughout the season...we hope so, as we hate to see any player go down with an injury.
If you're attempting to say that La'von Bell is > than Monte Ball, that is a real tough sell to discerning football fans and is not a convincing argument that NU's defense sucked while the Buckeyes shined. Had the Buckeyes put 6 fumbles on the ground, and given up 3 TD's as a result they would have lost their game big time.
Why should we "lay off" Urban. What has he done to change his image? Then you revert to a worn-out jab at Bo, that holds no credibility from a couple of 2 year old incidents. Get over it, Husker fans have. If you see a very excited John Papuchis on the sideline...you're not gonna like the outcome; I'd watch him more than Bo.
We echo your sentiments about wanting to see a great game with little to no sideshows or serious injuries.
...It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
W. C. Fields
My comments were more directed at the uneducated fans calling Braxton a "pussy" for fumbling and Urban scum for the video tape incident. If you don't understand what he's done to change his image, then you must not have been watching ESPN for the past year and seen the piece on him and his family. Many among us complain that the SEC is a conference full of liars and cheaters, and that's what it takes to win there. If that's the case, and one *former coach* wants to better himself as a family member and person foremost, and a coach second, I applaud that no matter where he goes and consider it as a positive reflection to his "image".
Again, the good guys on this board should understand that I'm not taking any "shots" at Nebraska, just providing a response to the few fans that ruin it for all you good guys. Happens on every board.
Thanks, Zonie, for at least attempting to react the way a typical, supportive fan would (and should, imo) instead of trying so hard to behave like "the best fans in the world." I'm sure I'm the one that's out of line, but all the upvoting and civility I find embarrassing.
People called Braxton a puss because he reacted like a PUSS. He doesn't hold onto the football with his leg, so I don't care what happened to his knee. The number of football injuries similar to Braxton's outnumbers the times the victimized player just chucked the ball when they realized they were hurt by about 50-1.
I believe Zonie addressed your Bell/Ball comparison sufficiently.
People called Urb a scumbag because he IS a scumbag, and who the hell thinks they can come on our message board and scold us like they're a disappointed grandparent?
I understand that you probably don't even realize how unbelievably arrogant you are, but trust me - no matter how much you say you won't come on here and talk down to us or our football team? Trust me, you just did. You know how when you start a sentence off with 'no offense,' you can safely expect what follows to be offensive? Yeah, you just did that. And it was pathetically veiled, too.
I hope Nebraska goes into Columbus next weekend and destroys your dirty, arrogant football program.

So long to the intellectual and civil conversations we were having until you chimed in. And just so I don't let you down, I'll revert to what you consider me and say keep hoping
