We have the ability to customize the names or categories that people fall into when they reach a certain number of posts on the board. Our names used to be all tied in to the levels on the 247Sports boards, but we can create our own categories.
Here is the 247Sports model:
1 - Participant
50 - Freshman
500 - Jr. Varsity
1000 - Varsity
1750 - Letterman
2500 - Walk-on
3250 - Redshirt
4000 - Back-up
5000 - Starter
10000 - All-Conference
15000 - All-American
20000 - Heisman
I am open for suggestions for category names. Let's think about this and chime in for the next few days/week and then I'll go ahead and set the new levels.
Thanks in advance for your participation.
Your team. All the time.
Blackshirt has to be in there somewhere. also, some sort of corn reference would be good too.
Feed me to the wolves, and I will return leader of the pack. #FreeDA
This is a great addition Kevin. Love the opportunity to brand our board... Going to give this one some thought. Agree that Blackshirt has to be one (maybe after starter).
A couple of ideas:
Participant = Prospect
Back-up = Special Teams
Starter = Blackshirt
Maybe after Heisman the next category is Legend...
Just my 2 cents. Would love to hear what others think.

I would love some more football references...
Also the star rating idea i cool... i mean the up votes is nice but a 1 star to 5 star would be sweet!!!
"In the deed, the glory"
Yeah, but if you start receiving invitations to post on the USC board, does your star rating increase?

1 - Recruit
50 - Blue Chip
500 - Redshirt
1000 - Two Deep
1750 - Starter
2500 - Team Captain
3250 - All-Conference
4000 - All-American
5000 - Heisman
10000 - Blackshirt
15000 - Bob Devaney
20000 - Tom Osborne
Bobfather and Dr. Tom could be swapped, based on board opinion.
My first thoughts were to use ex-players names as levels, but then you need to rank the players first and there will always be discussion on who is better than whom, although I'm not at all opposed to a Rodgers, Rozier, Crouch, Devany or Osborne level.
So how about some names, mascots, traditions, then we vote for levels.
Here are a few that I will submit for discussion- Kind of in order, but that's debatable.
Old Gold Knights
Flippin (as in George)
Absolutely.... we should incorperate "recruit" as well. Instead of freshman.
I started making a list, and it was very similar to this. Only real difference besides the posts was how I started. I went
500 Blue Chip
20000 + should be renamed as "Socially Challenged".
Unless of course you are a mod, valued poster, or are a staff member of 247.
So I will be known as socially challenged. [sigh]

Got to thinking too, should probably extend those numbers out. 20,000 is more reachable than people think in a year or two time.
You fall under the valued poster category in my book Gopher.
...It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.
W. C. Fields
For posters like us, yeah. But the vast majority? Not really. Look at the post counts of people in this thread. Josh, Skerz, Zonie. I think 20K is lofty for most posters.
Hmm what am I.
That's true. Maybe set a 50K for some sort of legendary mark.
I'll buy Runzas for the first three over 50k.
Make it Valentino's and we've got a deal.
I already post on two other team boards. Might have to find a third and fourth.
In memory of Tusks.
Just because you can put out the drivel doesn't mean you should get rewarded. Quality of the post should mean something IMO. I like posts where guys have attended practice and have some tidbits about some of the players and their performance. Posts from football coaches with knowledge about schemes to slow down dual threat QB's etc.
